  • Carries all the weight comfortably on your hips
Being new to backpacking, I initially was trying to keep my pack weight as low as possible. I bought a lightweight 2lb pack but it just was not transferring the weight to my hips and never felt comfortable even with under 20lbs. After months of trying to make it work, I finally caved and bought an Osprey. At first it seemed monstrous but now it's my beloved monster haha. It is SO comfortable and carries the weight so well. It is completely adjustable so I highly recommend watching some youtube videos on how to properly adjust it if you can not make it to an REI store (there are none in my area). Pros: Super comfortable, carries the weight well, completely adjustable to properly fit your torso size and hips, ventilated mesh by your back for airflow, lifetime guarantee. Cons: Heavy at over 4lbs (I did remove the top brain). Might need to add some padding such as sheepskin to the hip belt and because I felt it was digging in to me at times. Shoulder straps also caused some redness but may need to adjust it or get used to it. Overall, I would highly recommend this pack. ETA: The features I most appreciated in this pack after taking it out on a section hike: -I was able to access my smart water bottle without taking the pack off. You can just put the bottle in sideways. -The hip belt pocket easily fit my iphone SE in a slim case. -Easy to hang laundry from the pack. -Spacious outer zipper pockets to help organize your things. -It has a whistle built in. I did end up cutting the extra hip belt straps because they nearly reached my knees. You can just cut it with scissors and seal it by flaming the edges. ... show more

  • Not sized for petite bodied
This bag is light weight (but not ultralight), the frame keeps the bag off your back for great breathability and the differnt compartments help to stay organized. Its large enough for a bear canister. Unfortunately, this bag does not fit short torso petite bodies. I got the size small and utilized the frame adjustments. However, the waist straps are fixed relative to the frame. My head hits the framing so I can't hold my head upright while wearing the bag. I discovered the bag would not fit after the Amazon return window. I contacted Osprey directly but they do not assist with any purchases from authorized 3rd party sellers (Amazon Marketplace). I'm disappointed with Osprey and will get my next pack from a manufacturer that offers petite sizing and more flexibility with customer service in the future. ... show more

  • It looks great but I may have ordered wrong size
Size: X-Small Color: Gamma Red
I love the size and look of the backpack. It has so many pockets for storage and organization. But it feels really awkward. I think I need to go to REI or something to get someone to help me try out sizes. I have never had a backpack like this but it feels awkward. Don’t try to figure out your size by reading reviews and questions like me ... show more

  • It's probably not intended for chunky folk like me.
I really wanted to love this pack but after receiving it and adjusting it with and without weight for literally hours, I just can't. It is extremely stiff. The hip belt is soooooo tight and digs into me in such a painful way. The shoulder strap tightening mechanism and trekking pole holders tub my inner upper arms. I had red areas there after just sporting it about the house. Can't imagine how much worse it would be with more arm movement and trekking poles in use. I can see some tearful treks in my future with this midevil torture device. I will be returning it. It makes me sad...I really, really wanted to love this pack. However, the material on the shoulder straps is sturdy yet soft unlike the shoulder straps on the Gregory Maven which are made of very itchy and abrasive matrrial but the Maven's hip belt is the most comfortable I have tried so far. Maybe it is made for thin figures. I'm 188 pounds, 5'4". I wear size 14-16 or lg-xlg bottoms and lg-xlg tops but my torso length is about 16.5". So, small torso size pack. The belt pockets are very far back on the belt and cannot be zipped or unziped without a round of gymnastics to reach them. Maybe my backside is...maybe I am just too dang big (fat) for this pack. This review is just based on comfort and not function as I will never be able to tolerate usinging it to test its actual functionality because it is about as comfortable as one might imagine a bear trap, clamped at the hips, would be. Maybe it would be amazing if I lost 65 pounds. I guess the search continues. ... show more

  • Beautiful backpack
Size: X-Small Color: Vestal Grey
This bag is beautiful and the seller shipped it next day, unfortunately I didn't keep the bag because it's too small. But what a beautiful backpack. If you are thinking about it, just buy it, you won't regret it. ❤️ two thumbs-up

  • Highly recommend this pack!
Bought this as a gift and she loves it! I have the same pack and what a difference over the first (starter pack) I bought to see if I would even like hiking first. Storage room is great. Zippers are all very durable on this pack. Color is as pictured. Front waist zipper pockets just wish they were more usable but very awkward to reach into still. Used to pack into a DNR cabin for a 3 night stay a few times where we always over pack way to much since we are stationary and seem to carry a little extra snacks and drinks into 😁 and was very comfortable and plenty of room for food clothes water and all needed items. Weight of the pack rides very comfortable along my waist line without any pressure points. the extra storage pocket on top is great for the quick items u need as your hiking. Plenty of areas to attach items to on outside of pack. Pole holders are great for quick access when needed. Very happy with this purchase. Looking forward to much more hiking in the future now that she has a more comfortable reliable pack. Would be nice to have a side pocket for tent poles would be my only change for quick acess when setting up. ... show more
