I bought the Orly x Harry Potter Lumos nail polish for my daughter, and she is obsessed. As soon as she saw the bottle and heard it was the one that glows in the dark, she declared it her new favorite. The color is a beautiful silvery-white with a subtle shimmer that looks elegant in normal light. But the real wow factor is the glow as it actually charges up under light and gives off a soft, enchanting green glow in the dark, just like casting “Lumos”! I'll start with what I like. I like the polish as a whole; it is a good consistency, not chunky, and dries quickly to a strong finish. The flakies give just enough shine to be subtle, but fun. I like the color and will try layering it over solid colors. And it DOES glow. It's a nice greenish-yellow glow, and I can see it in the pitch black. It DOES NOT glow strongly, though. You can see the side-by-side comparison between this and Mooncat's famous Green Eyed Monster polish; both were painted 1 layer on a card, and held directly under a bright light bulb for 30 seconds. The Mooncat polish illuminates the area; the Orly polish pales in comparison. ... show more

The color is nice but it takes a few coats to really show up. Very disappointed though, it does not glow in the dark like it says it does.
