    • Wonderful, rich, and tragic series - we need more of Piper to make it complete!
For series fans, the content of #4 is very familiar - I've seen it several times and always pick up a new detail - snarky comment, vague prophesy, and, throughout, the increased pulse of tension and dread in Litchfield "private" prison for women. The entire cast is excellent, and Jenji's goal of presenting an ensemble cast has been achieved. HOWEVER...I miss the pervasive presence of Taylor Schilling (aka Piper). She is such a superb actress that reducing her to a marginal role in series #4 seems a criminal waste. Her story is the one that drew fans to this series, and it's her they want to keep on interacting with. When she's on screen, we are reminded of how compelling her portrayal of an evolving character can be. This series NEEDS her as its central character - it becomes fragmented without her. As the actress herself has said recently, OITNB is essentially about story-telling, but because the stories resonate so personally with viewers, it becomes political. Bravo, Taylor Schilling - and a great supporting cast! *** ADDENDUM: After studying the commentaries from cast and creator, I understand and support the decision to introduce a broader cast into the mix, to show the diversity that reflects the true demographic mix - and related issues - within the penal system today. But...I still yearn for more Piper analysis and screen time - she represents such a symbol of privilege that seeing her transform into a cause-embracing, empathetic character is intriguing it itself - a possibility for redemption - that Jenji Kohan ought to exploit, through Taylor Schilling, her marvelous acting agent! ... show more

I'm trying to get the whole complete series. I can't stand to not have a complete series. I absolutely loved this show.

Great show, can't wait for season 5, this season 4 had many surprises and I wasn't disappointed in it. Hope it continues for at least a couple of more seasons.

Great series - love learning the back story to the inmates. Some sexual content and raw language, but it is about prison life!
