I have had Sonicare,, Oral B nd other electric toothbrushes and have used electric brushes for about 12 to 15 years now. My preference is Oral-B - this is after two Sonicare's and the same number of Oral-B's. It is a preference thing but my wife quickly converted after using the Oral-B. THIS brush is great. I prefer the timer being a stand alone "clock" in the bathroom as my last one was but that is no longer offered so this one pairs via Bluetooth to keep track of your time plus it has a hesitation every 30 seconds to count down for your 2 minutes. I can't speak on the miraculous "white teeth in 3 days" or whatever - I do it to clean my teeth. How well does it work? I use a waterpik; the amount of trash I am getting after going back to Oral-B (and this brush) is less then a quarter of what I used to get from my Sonicare!!! Yes, if you are attentive it is THAT good. Price - well, it is high. I waited until it was on sale but even then it was double the cost as a lower model that has the same settings (especially at Costco Warehouse where you get two handles - one for each). The ONLY thing I don't like is that you cannot set two people up with one handle. At the price this handle is … well, I can't expect everybody to run out and buy two handles! It would be nice to divide the handle user between my wife and I either when we switch out the head or when we use our phone to connect (which we rarely do). It supposedly has a tooth brushing guide but we don't use it so I cannot say anything. Friends of ours saw my purchase and ended up buying a cheaper model. They are sold after the first time! ... show more

Love this toothbrush. I switched from the SoniCare to the Oral B. I feel like I get the appropriate angle for the gum line and the right movement from the brush head compared to the old one. I like the app and the timer and all the fun options on the 9600, but I really chose this one for the fun color! I don't like the fact that you can't add flossing or brushing or rinsing after the fact. Sometimes...ok...most of the time...I forget to take my phone to the shower (that's where I brush my teeth so I don't have to worry about making splatter messes on the mirror). But if you don't have the app open it doesn't record your brushing...so it looks like I never brush. This version has so many options...a light that changes color, travel case (kinda bulky but at least theres a travel case) that you can charge it in. Easy to clean all bits with this one. Overall a good splurge on a toothbrush that will hopefully get the dentist and hygienist off my back for bad brushing habits in the hard to reach places! ... show more

    • Good brush. Gimmicky extras.
This brush leaves your teeth feeling very clean but is not worth the full price, in my opinion. The extra "features" can be gimmicky and useless. The app was fun at first, though sometimes reluctant to pair with my phone, but after a while it gets forgotten. The novelty of watching a small mouth replicate your brushing motions to ensure full coverage wears off. Especially when there's a quadrant timer to help you move along and clean each section. Probably the coolest feature is the ability to change the quadrant timer to a sextant timer! I have an easier time imagining my teeth in 6 sections as opposed to 4. Again this is superfluous but fun. It's also fun to change the color of the brush light but that doesn't really add to the functionality of the product. My favorite part of the app other than the sextant timer is the tracking of your brushing habits. It definitely shames me into brushing when I come late night and tired because I don't want to ruin my streak. The different modes are also kind of overkill. I think a gentle mode and a full blast mode would be great for most people but I don't even know what half these modes do. I generally keep mine on the diamond clean and have tried the tongue mode a few times. There's a noticable difference in vibration intensity for each mode but I don't think all of them are necessary. Finally there's the "smart" travel case. Truly the most pointless feature of this brush. One of my main reasons for choosing this brush was the longer battery life of it's lithium battery. Cheaper brushes have nickel batteries that need to be charged more often. And this one came with a smart case to charge it while you travel! How neat! I mistakenly thought that the case itself held a charge after being plugged in for a while and thus would charge your brush in your bag while you travelled. Alas, the case can only charge your brush while it is also plugged in and holding the brush. But it can also charge your phone at the same time? Very slowly for those of us with USB-C phones. So bizarre. The case is unwieldy and huge for not being able to hold it's own charge. I imagine this would be for a more baby boomer style of travel with a large suitcase but its just too enormous to not serve any other purpose. If Oral-B really wanted to make a travel friendly brush they would ditch the suction cup, gimmicky apps, eleventy modes, absurd "smart" cases, and just make this sucker USB chargable! This would make it able to be charged along with all my other gadgets travelling locally and overseas while carrying less stuff. I already purchased a small plastic cap to take my brush without the giant case on short journeys. It easily holds a charge for a week and slips into a small backpack or tote. The brush itself is quite sleek and nice looking with a great battery! I may purchase a third party USB charging stand for travelling overseas but I'm nervous it won't work or will damage my brush. I wish oral-B would just get on board with USB charging! ... show more

    • Nice Tooth Brush but Slightly Disappointed!

When I unboxed this tooth brush and looked at the handle my initial thought was I received the wrong one. But after some research realized the handle on this 9600 series is the exact same as my 6000 series. Now this one does come with some other items that the 6000 does not, but I usually don't use the accessories anyways. I only use the handle and charging base for home use. So I was disappointed I went with the 9600 in the end due to spending considerably more for the same handle. As far as the Oral B electric toothbrushes, I really like them. Clean my teeth very well and I can get the rear molars completely. My favorite brush is the sensitive one. I don't have any issues with gum bleeding or soreness after. And my teeth are so smooth and free of plaque. I recommend the Oral B products to friends who are interested in electric tooth brushes. My only hope is Oral B will decrease the price on the sensitive brush replacement heads so I don't have to look at aftermarket. Thanks for reading my review! ... show more
