WHAT: This is clear adhesive film that comes on a roll. It's just the right thickness to work with well. When it arrives, I find ways to lay it flat , for example with books placed on it, for a few days to straighten it out. It adheres well, but is not so overly super sticky that it causes problems when I put it up. The finish is shiny, which is fine on my very old cracking plaster walls. I don't care that the cracks show through, I just don't want the plaster to start falling off in chunks. HOW: *** I do NOT NOT NOT remove all the adhesive backing paper before I begin. I don't want the whole thing folding back on itself and sticking together before I can put it up, which would be a disaster. Plus, there's no need to. I cut my strips a little longer than the correct size with scissors. Then, I line it up and pull back the backing paper underneath and press on about 1 inch of it, smooth it out, then proceed about 5 inches further at the top to get it going. I press that section smooth with my fingers / hand and then continue rolling the backing paper down on the underside as I put up the next 5 or 10 inches, then the next, etc. When I get to the bottom, I cut the excess off with a utility knife. It's very easy.

My 1st time ever using Oracal vinyl and I'm satisfied with the quality. It is completely transparent and easy to remove before & after cutting from backing; secures well for the indoor purpose it was used. I have not used for outdoor purpose yet. However, it was difficult to find a suitable "kiss cut" setting to use on my cutting machine after using it as an overlay on a printable vinyl product. In addition, it would be convenient if cut setting instructions were included as this item is on a tube, not pre-cut sheet packaging.
