I didn't know these kinds of devices existed, but it could be roughly summarized as a heater with a bag attached. The heater puts out a good amount of heat with two settings: high and low. When you turn it off, the unit continues to blow for a short time, I assume to self-cool a bit. This bag concentrates the heat but doesn't exactly contain it. It feels kind of nice now in the winter, but if I was using this say, in our RV in the summer to dry swimming or rained-on clothes, it might be a little unpleasant. The heater has a timer, operated with a single button that lets you select number of hours between 1 and 9. It's probably best to set a reminder on your phone if you need more a more granular time setting. The hanger bar is plastic, so you won't want to overload it. The bar is small but will work - again, you're not going to dry full loads of clothes with this thing. Be gentle with the zipper and note the bag can detach from the heater without much force. The cord is slightly longer than 5 feet; it'd be nicer if it was longer since you're hanging the unit up in the air, but it all depends on your setup. The unit is lighter than i expected, but I was still a little nervous about hanging it on my wall-mounted clothes rack in the laundry room. The enclosed bracket solves that problem by allowing you to hang this over a door. There is a bit of grippy pad on the bracket to help secure it on the door; this pad also made it difficult to initially open the bracket because the grippy bits were stuck together. There was no other issue after we figured that out. Putting it away after use is just like cramming an airblown outdoor holiday decoration back in its box. The cord goes inside as well, and while it was a little challenging to get the lid on securely, i eventually got it. Make sure you wait for it to cool down all the way before packing it up! It's got a very visually pleasant design - a nice cream color with sage accents, soft curves, round control buttons that are easy to use. It won't be an eyesore if you use or store this in a bedroom or bathroom. I think this will be good for occasional use, and will be something that's handy to have when we need it. ... show more

  • Perfect To Keep In An RV!
Model: PD-CD206
I ordered this dryer to use in our camper -- we are always hanging wet swimsuits up to dry, which is ok when we are camping in a dry climate, but if there is any humidity whatsoever then we are stuck with wet suits for the rest of the trip. So when I saw this I decided to give it a try. This little dryer does a great job! It isn't as fast as a standard clothes dryer, but for something as portable as this is I can't complain. There are a lot of things to like about it -- first of all, it is compact, and everything but the hanger fits inside the folded up dryer for storage. It is lightweight and fits easily in a cabinet in our camper. With the hanger that is included, it hangs easily on our bathroom door and it adjusts to fit a variety of door widths. I use clothespins to clip our swimsuits to the hanger, turn the dryer on, and then go about my day. It takes about 2 hours to dry swimsuits for 5 people. When I've tested it out by putting some of the suits in the dryer and hanging the others outside to dry, the ones in the dryer are dry in about half the time. That means we can be back on the water in half the time, too! I'm so glad we ordered this. I don't know that I'd have much use for it at home since we have a standard dryer, but for an RV it is perfect! ... show more

  • This worked better than expected, and could be useful. Before buying, know how you would use it.
Model: PD-CD206
This Dryer came fully assembled. All I had to do was find a place to hang it - easy because I do have a clothes rack in the laundry room. To set it up, just take off the bottom cover and let the bag drop down. The cover is attached to the bag and has the air vents in it. No need to find somewhere to stow it. There is also a handy little "Hanger Adaptor". It looks something like a child's plastic monkey wrench. (If the grippers are stuck together pry them apart with something like a butter knife, that's what I did) Operating it is a no brainer. there are 3 buttons: Power - Ozone (sterilization) - Timer First - hang the clothes (or whatever) in it. You provide the hangers. I used fat plastic ones. Turn the power on. It starts on High. Push the button again and it goes to Low. Pushing it a third time shuts it down. Push the Ozone button to activate it, or you can leave it off - your choice Push the timer button for amount of time - anywhere from 1 to 9 hrs in increments of 1 hr. Walk away and come back when its done. To find out how well this Portable Dryer would work, I did a small load of laundry and put aside a pair of jeans and 3 different style shirts - a long sleeve medium weight knit pullover, a heavier weight short sleeve knit, and a delicate sleeveless tank top- to test it out. The bag is not long enough to hang a pair of adult long pants - the hems will pool up on the bottom - so I draped the jeans over the hanger's bottom bar. Just hung the shirts normally. I did space the items out on the dryer's hanging rack, to allow for good air flow. I set the timer for 2 hours with the power on High. When done, all the shirts were dry and nearly wrinkle free. The jeans were dry except for around the waist band (where there are extra layers of fabric) and the hems where the fabric is turned up, creating more layers. I took out the shirts, then turned the dryer on again, this time on low and for 1 hr. When the time was up the jeans were completely dry, except for the one small line where they touched the hanger when I draped them over it. That point of contact remained very slightly damp and dried by itself in no time at all. Overall, I was impressed with its functioning. I really didn't expect it to work as well as it did. A couple of things you should be aware of: 1) The High and Low speeds seem to pertain more to the flow of air than the actual temperature of the air. I felt no difference in the heat level when I went from High to Low, but definitely heard the motor switch gears and felt a difference in the air flow. 2) The amount of time it will take will depend on type fabric (heavy denims vs light polyester), the articles of clothing (pants or sweatshirts vs lace blouses), and how many items are in the bag (the built in hanger will hold 10 hangers, but even very lightweight blouses would be bunched together in that small amount of space) 3) This dryer is not going to dry clothes as quickly as your normal clothes dryer does. It relies on circulating warm air (notice I did not say HOT). Drying time would be more akin to hanging clothes outside on a warm sunny day and take about the same amount of time, and in some cases, a little quicker. 4) The unit all closed up is roughly 12" long x 9" wide x 5" tall. That's the amount of space you need to travel with it or to store it. It also weighs about 4 lbs. No problem if you're taking ground transportation, but it puts a bit of a dent in the amount of weight you're allowed when traveling by air. Also, remember that you do need electricity, it does not operate on batteries. 5) For safety, I would not operate this with no one available any more than I would leave an iron on unattended, and also unplug it as soon as I was through using it. Overall, it is something I would recommend, particularly for use in small living quarters (apartments, rv's, dorm rooms, etc), for camping in tents remember you do need a place to hang and plug in, and for travel consider first what will be available at your destination and second, would it really be worth toting around the extra luggage. ... show more
