Update: Customer service contacted me and helped me with this situation. I believe I had a bad batch of strips. They were very helpful and made things right. I appreciate them and will keep this meter since it is working much better with the new bottle of strips. I was really excited to get this meter as my other meters were getting quite old. While it works good most of the time, the test strips are ridiculously sensitive. By that I mean I get an error almost every time I check my sugar. I received this meter on Saturday and started using it on Sunday. I check my sugar 4 times a day. It is now Tuesday and I am out of the strips that came with the kit because I keep getting errors on the test strips. I get the Error #4 which suggests that something happened with the blood on the strip. It is either too much blood on the strip or the test strip moved after the blood was applied. I have never had so much trouble getting a drop of blood on a test strip in my life. I like the app and I like how the meter tells me if it's too high or too low; however, I am about ready to return the meter because of this issue. Those test strips cost entirely too much for it to be erroring out like that. I wish I would have gone with the other brand I liked that cost less, but I was talked out of it because it was not a name brand. I am very disappointed!

I’ve been trying to get this for weeks at Walgreens at $29, but they never seem to be in stock. So I finally bought this overpriced unit on Amazon. My main gripe with it is that it did not come with a case, which is shown in the picture on the Amazon listing. Instead, there is this poorly designed plastic clip where everything is exposed, and there’s no place to put lancets. This is probably the the most ridiculous cheap out, because you have to have lancets with the unit, and even if you had a place to store them on the clip, you don’t want to keep your kit in the open where it can get dirty and damaged. Obviously designed by somebody who knows nothing at all about a daily testing routing. For now I’ve put all the bits in a sock until I can buy a proper case. I’ve only performed a few tests, but so far at least the system seems to be easy to use and fairly reliable. It took me a while to realize that you have to contact the blood on the side of the Test strip, and not the end, which I’ve never seen before in many years of using such test strips. However, the app’s built-in instructional animation illustrates this even if it isn’t obvious at first. My several test did seem to take a long time to sync to the app. At least an hour, before the app seemed to notice that they were there and add them to the history. Hopefully that will speed up as time goes on.

This meter is incredibly frustrating to use. The meter screen timed out while testing on several occasions, forcing me to retest and use another lancet and testing strip. On other occasions, the meter just said there was a problem with the test strip, also forcing me to retest. I never once was able to test without needing to retest — every single time without fail I have to repeat the process twice or three times before getting a valid result. Edit: I've watched countless videos and most meters aren't like this. This meter is a borderline scam. Something as little as a drop of water left on my (non-testing) hand can make the test strip malfunction. As of the writing of this edit, I have yet to successfully do a test using just one test strip. The app is also more concerned about advertising to me than syncing my info after each test. Unbelievable! This product shouldn't be allowed to exist.
