    • Frustrating Putting it Together

It is a nice shelving unit. Much smaller then I visioned. Package very nicely, I liked how organize the little parts were done. But I do want to give a heads up on putting it together……it was made WAY harder then it should’ve been and took over 3hrs to do….when it should be done in 40min For part 1 & 2…..the holes to screw them together were not lined up, they were about 1/8” off….what should’ve been a 10 min job on 4 screws took over 30min as I tried to get the screw started. I even had to take a screw driver just open the holes enough to get it started. Then for part 3 & 4, way too much coating. Had to force one set together, the other, I could not get it move…….had to wait for my partner to get home to help. By this time, I've spent almost 2hrs on a part that should taken 15min. When my partner got home, he had to take a blade to the coating and scrap it off, before it would fit. Now at this stage, I’m just happy to be able to start putting the shelves in…I’m on my last shelf, still in the 1st section…as I’m following instructions for Method B, I’m looking at the pictures and saw that there is no way this is possible for the way I want to do it. It looks like the picture, but logically there is NO way I’m going to be able to corner it like I want do. So I flipped the shelves, as I was finishing on the last shelf, yet again, and was looking on for the next step and I notice that it had me put the sides of the racks on the wrong side, where there is no way put third part were I wanted to…..that is when I really looked at the drawing. The instructions, for Method B was actually for Method C and vice a versa. Once I figured that out, I had to take the shelves out yet AGAIN. This will be the 3 time I’ve put these shelves in. By this time I’ve already got it worked out on how it needs to be done and I barely glance at the directions. They just kept making it harder than it should’ve been. Tip, the L wrench that comes with it, has a cross-tip on the long end. Give yourself a break and use your own cross-tip, much easier to handle and grab a regular L wrench. Then you can use the long end to screw in the screw like a screw driver, instead of having to hit the side (and drop it) with a 3/4 twist and having to take it out (and drop it) and have to start all over again on the other side to get the twist that is needed. I swear, if I had dropped that thing one more time….ggggrrr Not a bad unit, but wow…….I’ve never had so much frustration putting something together while trying to follow instructions. ... show more

It was fairly simple to put together, but it did take some time. The shelves are extremely strong and heavy. I will say that if you order this, they will include these black straps that you attach to the shelf and then drill holes in your wall to attach them to. This one is reasonably priced, and while it is not made of solid wood, it is quite lovely and feels like something I would be proud to display in my home. As you can see in the photos, I have a large number of books, but the shelves appear to be very sturdy. It was a bit of a pain to put together, and I consider myself pretty good at putting things together. With 17 open shelves, this triple wide large display shelf can maximize vertical storage space while organizing my daily essentials. Overall dimensions are 62.2"W x 11.81"D x 77.95"H. The industrial color of this display rack, which is made of solid MDF boards and stylish matte black iron brackets, complements your other furniture. I didn't think about needing help to put this together when I bought it, I did it alone, but 2 people is better. You should have 2 people to move the box, it's quite heavy. Instructions were easy, and this does have the option to make it a right angle unit. It's been sturdy to far. The open shelf design doesn't feel as dark and heavy as more traditional shelves. If you're putting books on it, you will need bookends since there is nothing to hold them in. ... show more

Holds a lot of our games so you can see the titles, which is very nice. There is room for a few bigger lego sets, to break the look of games up, just for decoration and to help clear out some in our daughter's room. This sits in our entryway hall, didn't have to anchor it, it was sturdy as was. We just raised the legs back slightly in the front so it angles more against the wall. This was exactly what we needed. It's a bit too expensive, but the only one that fit our exact needs, so we bit the bullet and bought it. I will say, it looks even better in person. We get lots of compliments on it. ... show more
