This is an inexpensive frame and you know what they say: "You get what you pay for." The wood is light and cheap, the "glass" is a plastic sheet, and you can see where the staples were painted over, probably just with a permanent marker. Also, the backing doesn't fit snuggly and the hardware is flimsy. OK, so why the 4-review then and not lower? Because this is an inexpensive frame and, if you curb your expectations accordingly, you will enjoy using it while saving yourself some money. Personally, I got this frame to hang a document in my office. A document doesn't need a fancy frame and, so, I am happy with this purchase.

Many of my photos end up in squared format, so this is exactly what I needed. It's a good basic frame, and the mitered corners fit together well. The backing on the frame I received is not painted black but I guess that's not an issue when the frame is wall mounted. A small bag with 4 plastic wall hooks and 2 small flat metal hooks is proved with the frame. The back is held in place by swivel clips. It's a basic but useful frame.

These frames look good on the wall. They make the little portrait of my dog look nice aeven though the opening is 7"x7" and my painting is 6"X6". It seems sturdy and maybe they can even take a bump or two. The plexiglass in the frame is very thin and flexible, probably good for not cracking if the frame falls off the wall, but maybe not the best protection wise if you're worried about contact in a high traffic area. The mat is not real mat board either, some kind of thicker car stock but it does have a bevel-cut like a mat should have. I took some pictures of the corners, as you can see, the corners meet and there are no gaps, which is a good thing. However, the cutting is a little rough, probably due to the frame's material and so that is covered over with a black pen or paint. You can't really notice it unless you look very very closely, but I just wanted to point it out for people who are picky. All in all, an adequate frame, espcially if you are looking to save money, but if you are looking for something impressive or shouts "quality frame" you might want to look elsewhere.

Need some extra frames, then these might fill the bill. As the price indicates these frames are not super high quality but they look nice on the wall. It is hard to find a square picture frame so that was the first thing that caught my eye and my reason for me to give this frame a try.

(Did not cause any problems) • Black finish looks good • Easy to put a photo in with the mat • The hanger is a sawtooth type, you can bend it outward if needed- works on most hangers/nails • Also has a desktop stand

I like adding a variety of shapes when putting together a collection of frames - whether that be on a feature wall or displayed on a surface. 9x9 is a versatile size, especially if you plan to use a mat with your artwork. This frame, however, isn't as high quality as I had hoped. The corners aren't painted/finished before assembly, so any misalignment of the 45 degree joints is very visible. The joints are not filled before painting and they are held together with staples. If you look closely to the frame, you can see unfinished surfaces. I will either use some place where the corners aren't easily visible, or fill, sand and repaint before using.
