  • Great Everyday Carry Camera
Style: TG-7 Red
I bought this nice little camera for everyday carry. I have high end DSLR and mirrorless cameras along with pro lenses from Nikon and Olympus, so I'm not expecting this little guy to beat those other cameras out in image quality. This is a small, rugged, and waterproof camera that can be put in a pocket and exposed to harsh environments. It takes pretty good pictures and video. I partially LOVE the macro modes. I bought the guide light and silicone jacket accessories for it. With focus stacking and the guide light this little guy is very fun to explore the smaller things all around us. Put it in one of the scene modes or leave it in full auto to take photos of events, landscapes, people, etc. Again, it won't beat out its big brothers, but is excellent for everyday carry. As the old saying goes: the best camera is the one you have with you. Some would argue that a cellphone fits this space better. I disagree. This thing is cheaper than the high end cellphones, is more durable (both shock and waterproof), it has advanced computational photography features, and it has a whole ecosystem of accessories. I like the GPS features to include compass, altitude, and temperature. You can geo tag your photos and videos. You can also shoot in RAW format and import your pictures to your favorite photo editor. The free OM Workspace works just fine. Finally, the camera connects easily to the free OI.Share app on your phone so you can send your photos there to share with others. I love this little camera. ... show more

  • Great camera
Style: TG-7 Red
If you really want a point and shoot camera this is the one. It auto focuses quickly.

  • Used everyday
Style: TG-7 Red
Indestructible I can agree. I do actually wear it out. Go through one a year, auto starts to fail and pics become less clear and refined. Mind you, I will take 200 to 1000 pics 4 days a week with it, so probably its my expectations. When I go to a joint inspection with other investigators, we all have to mark our cameras because we all have the same one. Ten investigators and engineers around a component inspection, and we all have to worry about "did I pick up my camera?" Love the micro function and dont forget the filters and ring flash. ... show more

  • RED STRAP on a black camera
Style: TG-7 Black
My TG-5 died recently. Manufacturing defect that isn't really repairable. So I bought a TG-7. My 5 had been red, and it came with a red strap. This time, I opted for black. BUT I GOT A RED STRAP AGAIN. The horror! THE HORROR! I've only taken one picture, of my TG-5 resting in its plastic coffin. I assume this new 7 version is as good as the 5 version. If it isn't I'll come back to complain about something other than the camera strap color. ... show more

  • Poor Quality Images
Style: TG-7 Red
The T-7 camera shipped to me arrived in a plain carboard box instead of the kind of container you expect to find with an expensive camera. All the hardware components were there but the operator's manual was missing. To obtain the manual required contacting OM. The only manual available on their website was for the T-6 model which the T-7 replaces. The manual is a must have as the user interface for this camera is complex. Pointing the camera at a person or scene produced high quality image on the display on the back side of the camera, but the image captured by the camera even in the fully automatic mode never looked as good as the image on the camera's display prior to capture. The unit I received had a problem with its autofocus function. It invariably produced low quality, slightly out of focus, images. I don't know if this was a defect in the unit I received, a problem created by using the wrong settings, or a design flaw in the camera. Whatever it was, I was unable to make the camera capture crisp in focus images. I returned the camera for a full refund. Although the T-6 has an excellent reputation and especially as an underwater camera, I would not recommend the T-7 given my experience. ... show more

  • Many options travel camera
Style: TG-7 Black
I purchased this camera as a travel camera. It is small and tough. I don't have to worry about rain, cold, dropping, etc. It has many, many options that will take me a long time to understand much less master. I take thousands of travel pictures that can be described as: panaromic, low light, text, macro. So far it has lived up to my expectations. My wife has a TG-3 so I had a pretty good idea of this camera capabilities. I really like the USB-C connection. One less cable to carry with me. I wish they supported a true wireless/bluetooth connection between the camera and my LAPTOP. They have one with my smartphone, but I don't want to move a picture onto my smartphone then nearby share it to my laptop. ... show more

  • Keep the doors clean and dry when opening or closing
Style: TG-7 Black
These really are the best point-and-shoot cameras for underwater and heavy duty use, hands down. They are worth every penny! For Diving/Snorkeling - the pictures are fantastic out of the camera, but the buttons are too small for gloved hands and the camera is only good to 50'. So, make sure to get the Olympus brand Waterproof Case and a neoprene/floatie strap (the Olympus strap is crap, but it is "a strap"). The other Waterproof Case brands are not good enough, the Olympus fits properly and works every time if you do your part and follow the directions. For industrial work environments these are (again) excellent! I have several Olympus Tough cameras spanning quite a few years and they out-last all the other ones. They can be killed, they are not cockroaches, but it takes a good sized drop or serious effort to do so. So far, even with the worst mishap, the SD card survives every time at the very least. Highly recommended all around. ... show more

  • does the job
Style: TG-7 Red
So am not going to say I am a camera wiz, I bought this camera to have for crime scenes when there is rain or wet environments. This way I am not risking my more expensive DSLR camera to hostile environments. I am not a diver so I cannot relate to that feature, yet, I can report that the close up photos I have taken with this camera have been very impressive. If it can do a good job with crime scenes, I am sure that it will do what is needed under water. ... show more
