If you read the description of the product it does say cold drinks, though the pictures clearly depict hot tea. That said, I took the risk and made hot herbal tea in it, and it didn’t explode on me this time. Time will tell if it will endure more hot drinks… if I have the guts to try. The handle warmed up while the tea steeped, and the tea cooled down rapidly in the glass. Safety aside, I don’t think it was built for hot drinks the way some glass tea or coffee mugs are. Maybe a cold tea, but who uses a tiny tea spoon to stir cold tea? I do feel nervous about using it for something hot again. The glass is cute, more of an artsy novelty than something that would be high end. Not bad for the price, which was an Amazon deal. It holds about what an average sized mug might. It came with a cute little doily but that ripped immediately upon a light tug to get the creases out. That went straight to the garbage.
