This is an interesting design in that it can be used in flight-mode as a drone or in ground-mode as a "hovercraft". Definitely kid-friendly and probably would be difficult to cause serious damage to ones house if used indoors. It is small and lacks any sort of bells-and-whistles, but it conveniently comes with 2 batteries and charging cables. I had initial difficulty operating the drone, but only because of user error. I configured it for hovercraft mode while attempting to get the device airborne, haha which obviously didn't work. However, once I actually took the time to read the instructions provided, I was able to figure it out quickly. If you are seeking an inexpensive drone for your kids where you don't need to monitor their usage the entire time, this is an easy device to accomplish this. While I do wish there was a simple on/off button on the drone itself, it is very quick and easy to just un/plug the battery cable. I've only been playing with this for a couple days so I can't yet comment on it's long term longevity, but it's a fun little toy for inside ... show more

Oddire Mini Drone for Kids 8-12 & Adults This is a fantastic drone for the novice drone enthusiast, or for a child’s toy. I purchased this for my 11 year old daughter, and within 5 minutes, she got the hang of the controls and was flying it with confidence. With the one click takeoff, landing and stable hover, she instantly felt comfortable flying it without the thought of crashing it. It also has an impressive speed level that you can manually switch through, and it really moves quickly. I also love that it comes with a car feature so she can use it indoors as well if she desires. Overall, it is great quality, especially at the price point. Delivery at my door within 1 day, and the box and all of it’s contents were in immaculate shape. I am very impressed with this little drone. I planned to give it to the grandkids, but I am going to keep this one for myself a while longer. After a little trial and error, I had it flying around in our living room. I would recommend starting with the hover craft mode until you get the feel of the controls. Good for building better eye/hand coordination and great inexpensive device to train with if you are contemplating a camera drone as I am. No worries of damages to your home. This little thing is a blast for the kids. My 4 year old and 2 year old have been able to figure out the controls and make the drone do tricks and everything in flight mode and as thd alternative car mode. I didn't think they'd enjoy this as much as they are. I had bought an expensive drone awhile back with camera and everything and they never enjoyed it as much as this one. For the price it is definetly worth it to see the happiness it brings to the kids. Obviously it's a small little craft so the battery runs out within 10-15 minutes of them playing continuously, but they do give you two batteries so it makes it last longer. ... show more

Fun little drone for kids. This drone is very lightweight and doesn't seem to damage the walls or anything when I repeatedly fly it into things. I guess it's kinda cool how it can be operated as a drone but also similar to an RC car when using the airship/ground mode. Came with two batteries so can easily swap a fresh one if you run out of charge. Cannot be operated by a smartphone and has no camera built-in. Gave this drone to my 9 year old nephew and he loved it. It was easy enough for him figure out how to use it within a few minutes. He had a blast flying it around the backyard.
