Description

The Sorcerer is out to get you! Find your way among the illusions but beware of the traitor in your ranks! The Grimoire guides his team towards the exit using images, on which he points at certain details. In cooperation, the other players have to find the Grimoire's clues as quick as possible while avoiding the wrong cards. However a member of the team is a Traitor looking to lead the other players astray. A wide variety of Traps are on your way to the exit of the Library, making player communication harder! Obscurio is a family game, an original mix between an image-based communication game and a secret role game, in which the players have to be careful when sharing ideas with their team. Supported by rich contents, Obscurio proposes a fresh new experience in its genre by putting the emphasis on the details of the images and the constant doubt created by the presence of the Traitor. Communicate efficiently and avoid the illusions on your way to escape the Sorcerer’s Library!

  • Mysterium Excellence and More!!
Everything you loved about Mysterium and more. The game is magnificent one of my top favorites. The brilliant artwork of mysterium is back with new material and even a few revisited images. A notch up in a competitive nature because of the added traitor aspect. If you're like me you're a terrible in game liar. However what a game like Obscurio does is you dont have to be under direct scrutiny, you just have to indirectly convince/confuse your group into believing something that may or may not be a possible solution amongst very abstract artwork. Also even if you're discovered as the traitor you're still in the game!.. and that is very group friendly considering you're never fully defeated or removed until end game conditions are met for either side. If your group's game master can be unbiased and skilled enough to direct within the frame of the rules then this game is a home run. The components are excellent quality and very well made. My sand timer was accurate this time luckily lol the gameplay is well outlined in the rule book and easy to follow; especially if you're used to games such as Werewolf, Mafia, Avalon, Resistance, etc. My only caution to the game is making sure your group is theme interested. Theme atmosphere/ immersion is everything to me when I come to a very mysterious and spooky themed game like this. Only a slight fraction of the games rules can be meta gamed so an uninterested player might exploit. Overall this game is 5 star quality to me. Great theme, great quality and interesting game mechanics to a traitor based game full of brilliant artwork and player interaction. One of my top favorites to bring to the table and I highly recommend Obscurio!! ... show more

  • Fun game!
I got this for my niece as a Christmas present and she loved it. We all played it over the holidays and it’s a very unique and fun game. Do watch the instructional videos on YouTube, the instructions were a bit much on their own. After watching a couple quick play throughs it was easy to learn and will become a staple for family game nights. ... show more

  • Where Are The Expansions!
We love this game, my spouse and I are still not sure why Mysterium gets more hype than this. The mechanics are exactly what you would expect from the creators of Dixit, with a fun twist on the usual mechanics. All enhanced by the amazing cards (which we think are better than the Mysterium ones, without a doubt) and the board/ magnetic book. This is sooooo much better than Mysterium! We played both Obscurio and Mysterium for game night with friends and this one was definitely the winner, with everyone wanting to play again right after! Regardless this should definitely be in your game collection. They need to get started on the expansions for this asap. ... show more
