I don't eat fish because I can't handle the smell or taste. Just the scent of salmon makes my throat close up and I start to gag. Therefore, I have to source my omega 3 elsewhere. I used to take fish-oil pills, but even the ones that promised no aftertaste, still occasionally had a fishy flavor appear. While perusing Amazon's options, I came across these and was like, it cuts out the middleman. The fish get their Omega-3 from plants so it makes sense to get it from the plants as well. Zero aftertaste. Not even a hint of vegetal. There are easy to swallow. Have a nice clear yellow color. Just 1 pill is the serving size unlike other brands that recommend 2-3 pills.

Provides and meets the essential fatty acids needed daily, in an effective way, and one that is incredibly affordable compared to other brands. The verdict on carrageenan is that the FDA chose not to ban it. However it is a known irritant, but the vast majority of people are tolerant to it. Moreover, this is food grade carrageenan, and its toxicity has been refuted in many studies. In conclusion, if you are sensitive to carrageenan, maybe obtain your omega 3's elsewhere, but, most people are not, and it does not hurt the bank to try out this product for yourself. Will be buying again and have noticed a positive change in health!

Vegan. Not fishy... just a tad. ....of course because sea weed is in the ocean with millions of fish... light colored... pill s a little big but not huge. 3x ordering... come fast

If you are looking for a vegan Omega-3 supplement - I heartily recommend this one by NuTru! I just wish I could get it on subscribe + save. To me the minor advantages - No weird taste, easy to swallow. Now for the BIG Advantage - I know this is a personal anecdote, and not everyone may experience this result, but here is why I love this product. Even though I'm a vegetarian (no meat,fish,etc) and eat eggs or lowfat dairy rarely, my cholesterol had spiked to 245. I spent a long time talking with my DR, and indicated I did not want to take cholesterol medicine, nor would I take the omega-3 supplements she recommended because they all have fish product in them. I did a LOT of research to find a non animal way to get omega-3s (i've been taking flaxseed oil for years, but apparently it wasn't helping enough). I found info on getting DHA / EPA from plant sources, and chose this Nutru supplement based on non-biased product comparisons. I was hoping and had fingers crossed that my cholesterol numbers would go down a bit... well after 2 months, both my DR and I were pleasantly surprised that my numbers went down by almost 40!! Even better my good cholesterol went up, my bad cholesterol went down. I'm continuing to take this every day:)

I've used NuTru O-Mega-Zen3+EPA for more than 3 years. Tried more than half a dozen others, but this is my favorite. It is extracted from plant sources - it's Vegan, not simply vegetarian. I need the DHA and EPA. It works for me. Cardiologist told me to go on a strict lifestyle regimen because I'm severely allergic to statins and other heart meds - no meat, fish, poultry, dairy, oil or nuts (see Esselstyne's Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease). Dietary protocol works incredibly well (LDLs 80 or less), but my triglycerides went over 300. NuTru is vegan and allows me to take a measured amount of vegan oil to keep triglycerides between 100 and 102, and maintain my target cholesterol level (I take more than one capsule). I don't take any prescriptions. So, it works for me. Give it at least 60 days and adjust after a blood test if you're taking this or a similar product to help control cholesterol or triglycerides.
