This product is a fine one. It is worth more money than it costs right now. First of all, its made of plastic, but that doesnt mean that is has a bad build quality. On the contrary, it is very solid and light. So you can carry it to wherever you want without worrying about breaking it or causing damage to it. Also when you use it, the knobs and sliders are actually good. They are very responsive and feels good when using them. They dont turn too quick or too slow. The platters, i like them because i really didnt know that they were touch sensitive, so i was amazed with them. Anyway, for those who know that they are, they a very responsive to the touch, so that means that you can scratch a Little bit with it, and you can increase or decrease the pitch with them to be able to sync the songs. Now, the buttons they could be better, they make a lot of noise when you press them, and you have to press them a Little tougher than you would like to, but i guess one can get used to it. The sound card that it has is a good quality one. It has the entrances that DVDs use so its easy to plug it into the sound equipment. And for the headphones, it uses one of those big jacks, so you will need to have an adapter if need one. Now, you can use this with serato intro, virtual dj and traktor. With serato many option arent available that some other controllers for serato intro have. But it Works good. With virtual dj, well i honestly havent tried becuase I dont really like it. But that is just my personal opinión. I use it with tratkor. It Works very well. It has a standard mapping that comes with tha traktor software. But you can map it so it will fit your needs. Mapping is difficult to learn because it is kinda confusing at first. but when you get it how to do it right, then its a piece of cake. You can find how to map it on internet. I recommend mapping it for your needs and to be able to use it better. You can even set it to be able to use the 4 decks that traktor has. It will take some time, but doing it will give you a great reward. Now sound quality is good!! This equipment can be used for people that want to start djing, for people that want it as a hobby, and for people that want to perform in parties. It can be used for a "level behind pro" events. That is because of the quality. Remember, this product is a well build one for the Price, and has a lot of functions and you can squeeze its features to créate high qualities mixes or remixes, but there are points in which you would like it to be more accurate. One example is the picth, there are times that i would like it to be more accurate, but that doesnt means that it doesnt Works or that it isnt good. In any case, one can get a solution for this. I have use it on a couple of parties and hasnt let me down. Hope this review helps.

I am no pro. However, I have used professional equipment. So I realize that this is not top flight equipment. However, as I am brand new to this stuff I did not have any equipment of my own. I decided it was time to get my own cheap software controller to get started. After researching for months I decided on the Numark Mixtrack Pro. It is amazing. It does not compare to the high grade (and high priced) equipment, but for under 250 dollars it is well worth it. It has all the functions I use, and it is very portable. It works with Traktor and Virtual DJ pro which are amazing programs. It will not replace actual turntables or any of the pioneer cdjs but it will do the job for learning, mixing, and small gigs as well as some other stuff. It is a great stepping stone. I think the jog wheel is a little big, but I personally like that. Also the crossfader feels very cheap and flimsy, but then again I did pay less than 250 dollars for the whole thing so I expected there to be some cheapness to the thing. However all those aside it feels much more professional and more sturdy than all the other software controllers I have used. Like I said I am a beginner so maybe there is something I am missing. The higher end products offer so much more, but the bottom line is that this thing makes my mixing faster, easier, better,and more fun than with the software alone. So why not give it 5 stars?

I used to DJ House Music about 15 years ago on vinyl, and I found myself in the position of volunteering to DJ a Xmas Party. I had 3 weeks to get equipment, learn it, and prepare a set. I needed an easy to use beginning console quickly, and I didn't want to spend a lot of money. The Numark Mixtrack Pro filled the bill very nicely. The Mixtrack Pro comes with Serato Intro, which is not the easiest program on Earth to use, but it's not all that difficult either. The sound quality was very good, and I experienced no dropouts in live mixing mode, though in offline editing mode you can freak it out if you try to do too much. But during the gig, the sound was solid with no problems whatsoever. The Mixtrack Pro is great for learning and practicing beat matching and mixing songs in and out. All of that said, as others have noted, if you have any experience Djing and know what you want to do, you will run up against the Mixtrack Pro's limitations quickly. You can only add 3 cue points, and you'll quickly wish you had more. The looping function is very primitive and you really can't do a whole lot with it. The EFX are extremely limited and are pretty much useless, except for the HPF. The sync function has it's own little quirks that you can work around, but it would be nice if there was some sort of automatically updating sync function. The headphone volume is pretty low, and depending on the situation, you might need to get some kind of headphone amp. I don't know a lot about higher end consoles, and I'm guessing that some of these issues can be remedied with a full version of software, but if you are really planning on becoming a serious DJ you might want to fork a bit more money and get something a little more versatile. But for the price, and considering a very good soundcard is built into the unit, you could do a lot worse than this little unit. I would highly recommend this unit for the beginning house or dance music DJ, who wants a reliable unit for a great price. However, if you know what you're doing, or want to do some serious scratching, you might want to spend the extra money and get something a little more versatile.

We ordered the "Mixtrack Pro" and instead get the cheaper Mixtrack model....goes for 75 bucks less than what we ordered. This was sold by Pavillian and fulfilled by Amazon. I'm not sure if it was an honest mistake on their side but I don't like the feeling we got and the annoyance of the return plus the waiting process. This also ruined the morning fun on Christmas...glad my son was old enough to notice this item was the wrong one as they look a lot a like. I will always spend a few extra bucks with Amazon purchases for the fact I can return them without a big headache...this was my first "fulfilled by Amazon" purchase and it seems to be the same process. Anyway, the lower center mixer slide is very loose and without the smooth tension feel that the 3 slides above have....feels cheap. Update: returned it and money was refunded...I feel a lot better. Also, I ordered it again, this time through Amazon as they now have it in stock(for less!). I will keep the crappy rating in hopes that people will read this review and just be aware they could get the cheap model passed off as the "Pro Mixer". I really don't think Pavillion did this by mistake...people have commented on this review saying it also happened to them. That pisses me off and Pavillion should be banned from Amazon and be fined for ripping people off. Good luck people and have a great New Year :)

I'm an "OLD SCHOOL" professional DJ. I retired about 10 years ago due to some health issues and I haven't had a chance to play on any "digital equipment" ever since then. Being an old school DJ, I am used to turntables and mixers and some FX boxes. So when I saw this, it looked like fun because it packs everything a DJ needs to perform. All of the gadgets, with the FX are in one small equipment. How can you go wrong specially with the price. I love shopping around before I buy an item online so I make sure I get the best deal for my money. And for this particular product, AMAZON had the lowest price (like most of the time) so I ordered it from them. I just started playing with it and learning all the gadgets and before I knew it, I was back in the groove. It is a great piece and I probably would step up to the Numark Mixtrack Pro 2 next, which just came out last week and pass this on to my son who wants to learn too. One last thing tho'....don't forget to upgrade to the Serato DJ software to get the full potential of this mixer...but don't get me wrong, the Serato Dj INTRO, which came with this product is also a completely great software, specially for beginners...keep on trackin' !!!

I just purchased this unit and it shipped from Electronica Direct yesterday. Upon discovering the unit sitting on my porch, it seemed that whoever packaged the item didn't fully seal the box that the unit was put in. Granted, it's not a high-end controller, but the packaging efforts to insulate the item seemed subpar. I un-boxed the unit and set it up to play music. The unit is compact, the knobs and faders feel slick and work great. This is the ideal unit for the "Bedroom DJ" like myself. Plus, it's lightweight and portable if you feel like rocking a few house parties. It's plastic, so the construction might not hold up to the rigors of heavy club use, but for my little music set-up, it's perfect. The price was great as well. Most other online retailers had the Mixtrack Pro available for $249. After my Amazon Prime membership kicked in, I got the unit for $210 with one-day shipping. It seemed like a great deal. After using the unit for a few moments, I found that the right side jog wheel and play button flashed intermittently. A problem I associated with the speed of my computer. Unfortunately that was not the case. After using two different, more powerful computers and another copy of the software, the problem kept occurring. The unit I received was indeed defective. The right side jog wheel registers a rotary input on the optical sensor when it's not supposed to. Perhaps it's the build, a manufacturer controlled defect, a fluke, or just poor workmanship, but I am now forced to return this unit and will not be purchasing another from Amazon and Electronica Direct in the future. Upon speaking with NUMARK technical support, the technician told me that I could return the unit and have it repaired within 6 weeks. Having to wait 6 weeks to repair a unit that I discovered defective in the first hour of using it, to me, is unacceptable. It is my feeling that this unit should have been replaced with another immediately and without question. I am returning this unit to Amazon today for a refund.

This is an excellent product. However, i would like to point out that this did NOT come with Traktor LE or Virtual DJ LE. It did, in fact, come with Serato DJ Intro. This is am excellent software. It runs smoothly on my laptop (My laptop sucks lol) and i had no problems. Although I've seen that a lot of people had defects on their product, mine arrived in perfect condition. There were no problems, no broken knobs, or faders, and everything was perfectly responsive. Although it may have to do with the fact that I am a member. I am shocked to see that this product went up 20USD. But its worth it for you beginners! This little thing does lots, and it is very lightweight & sturdy. I like the buttons too. They feel nice. Although you do have to put somewhat pressure to activate. The jogwheels are not moter activated, but they scratch just as good. I love it. I also like the CUE part. It lets me.pick my song out before anyone in the crowd hears it. I did my first gig with this thing, and it ran strong for 8 Whole ours. I definately recommend. Five stars from me.

I used to DJ with CD's for years (most recently using the Numark CD DJ-In-A-Box) until I decided to upgrade to a computer setup. I checked out the Numark Mixtrack Pro and ordered it...and now that I have it, I'm wondering why I didn't upgrade sooner. The Mixtrack Pro is so cool! The controller and the Virtual DJ software are loaded with features and easy to use. The jog wheels are smooth and responsive (especially for scratching) and the mixer puts everything at my fingertips - cues, looping, effects, EQ, pitch bend - and I especially like the Browse knob. It lets me select my songs without touching my laptop. The Virtual DJ software makes mixing and tempo-matching easy. Within minutes, I was mixing, matching, blending & extending my music and having loads of fun doing it. And thanks to Amazon & Electronica Direct for shipping it to me quickly and in perfect condition. I rate Five Stars for a quality product and quality service!
