This dj set is a great value. Only downside is the price of the software. Serato DJ Pro is priced at $129 as a download. I contacted Serato to ask for a discount because I feel the price-point is there for this hardware but the software costs half as much?! Anyway, Serato told me no discounts for this software after I pleaded my case. The unit comes with Serato Lite which is good software but doesn't allow you to record performances. This hardware has incredible sound. Coupled with a decent laptop with SSD had and plenty of RAM and you have a very stable system. I am running a Vostro 3400 laptop (7yrs old). 250GB Crucial SSD HDD, 8GB RAM, Windows10 Pro 64bit. UPDATE: I've had this device for over 5yrs. No problems. Very good quality and amazing sound. FYI, this unit is only as good as the music you put into it. It records using USB so therefore any popping or cracking heard is coming from the songs you download or create. I've used the Numark Mixtrack Pro 3 during electrical "glitches", light switches causing 'pops' during recording and this device doesn't transmit those noises to the performance. I don't need a $1500, $1000, 700 or even a $300 controller when the Numark Mixtrack Pro 3 is MORE THAN ENOUGH! I spent that towards the laptop and monitors. Highly recommended for ANY dj, at any level! Since this was purchased I've upgraded my laptop to a Gaming MSI G75 Leopard and I upgraded both hard drives in the laptop to 2TB-SSDs. I could use a larger spin up drive for the secondary HDD but I don't have more that 700GB of music on either drive. ... show more

Awesome mixer! Perfect fit for beginners and intermediate DJs. Very well made, high quality mixer with full DJing functions and features. The Numark Mixtrack Pro 3 is definitely the bang for your buck. Comes with DJ Serao Into, which is very easy to use after you learn the buttons and the functions on the mixer. The only downside is if you don't have an RCA cable to connect your speakers to the mixer, or you need a female RCA cable, you are going to have to buy it separately because it does not come in with the package. The knobs, sliders, buttons and wheels all feel sturdy and durable, and the cue pads on the mixer are very responsive. The LED lights that light up when using and booting up the mixer is awesome plus which adds more fun when playing in dark settings. Bottom line is, this is a wonderful, simple mixer with full capabilities. I am very happy with this purchase and I think you will like it, too. ... show more

So far so good! This is my first controller,and I plan on doing small gigs with it. Easy to use, reliable and fun. I personally like using Virtual DJ 8 with it better than Serato, but thats my personal preference. I'll write more after gigs start, but if you're looking for one, get this one. It's worth it! *Update- A year and 2 months after my purchase, I'm still rocking it. I have a gig this weekend and I'll be using this. I've moved on to DJAY Pro on Macbook which integrates Spotify and it's awesome. I purchased Serato to work with this and I love it as well. Spotify integration is what's keeping me on Djay. I can take requests and have most of them loaded online. Quality of this "beginner" controller is on point, no issues. The main things to me that are "beginner" are 1) Only 2 deck support on software and 2) Amount and function of pads. It's better with 8 dedicated cue,sample and loop pads instead of 4. This is a good controller with some nice responsiveness on the jog wheels. If this controller has one weak spot, it is the crossfader. There are no adjustments on the controller to adjust the fade/pitch curve. Adjustments must be made in the software. The controller cross fader also does not always fade out the other deck when set up for scratching. Overall though, this controller has nice touch sensative platters and programable FX with a touch strip to controll the rate or degree of the effect being used. Sync function works well and the file navigation controlls work well. Very responsive cue point pads, sampler pads, and looper buttons. Supports both headphone and microphone. This controller is made for Serato DJ. I do recommend upgrading from the Serato DJ Intro software to Serato DJ. This controller comes with USB cable has a built in sound card and RCA output. This is a good entry level controller for the price. Durably constructed case body. I would also recommend getting a flight case or protective cover to protect your knobs, switches, and platters. ... show more
