Based on previous reviews I was very confused on what size shoes to order. So I ordered a small and a medium. I normally wear a 6 or a 6.5; I have wide feet across the toes and a narrow heel. The small size works for me and are actually slightly too big. So I would recommend ordering a size SMALLER than you normally wear. The material streaches. I haven't had any problems with the heel slipping down, even thought I have a narrow heel. My friend who wears an 8 tried on my smalls and they fit her perfectly; they were comfortable for her and not too tight. I bought these shoes for traveling and took them on a week-long trip. I wore them every day through airports, on planes, parking lots, festivals and shopping. They held up perfectly and still look brand new! They are extremely light and thin so they don't take up much room in your suitcase. If I was wearing other shoes, I kept these in my purse as back-up in case my feet started getting sore. It feels like you're walking barefoot when you wear these shoes, which I like. They do NOT have any arch support if that's what you're looking for. I tried putting insoles in these shoes for additional cushion and arch support but the heel started slipping down when I did. But I found them to be perfectly comfortable without insoles. I was hesitant about these because if some reviews about the fit, but mine are pretty perfect. I usually wear a 7 1/2- 8, and the medium worked fine. I have a very low instep so I think that if you have a high instep it could be a problem. The sole is super flexible- I like that. I’ll use these for patio, deck, home wear- I’m not wearing them out unless for travel. I think they would be great on long flight or road trip. The only con is what others note about the fit of the heel. It does slide a bit but does not slide off for me, so I’m okay with that. The sole is wider at the heel than my foot, so I think that’s where the problem lies. I’m happy and will probably get a second pair in black. ... show more

    • I love these shoes, but have experienced very inconsistent sizing.

I’ve purchased multiple pairs of these because they are so comfortable and easy, but there is major sizing inconsistency that makes me not want to purchase more. I purchased two pairs of black Maryjane shoes in my size and they were both too tight. I also got the white/black filigree Maryjane’s in my size and they fit perfectly, which was the reason I ended up buying the second pair of black Maryjane’s and had the same problem of being too tight. I wear a size 10 shoe, so I’m also at the end of the sizing options. Just very disappointing to say the least. If you are able to size up, then you should do that to be safe. ... show more

I bought these to be my “inside” shoes for a couple of holiday gatherings at friends’ homes, where I would remove my shoes or boots at the door. They’re very cute and complement many outfits; the soles are not as thick as tennis shoes of course, but there are hard (yet flexible) soles, so I could wear them outside for a short bit (think run to the mailbox.) They are comfortable like slippers, and there is no inner support to speak of. I could also wear these around the gym or dojo, or anyplace where I might be going barefoot (but would prefer covering my feet up for sanitary or comfort reasons). They came in a little drawstring sack, so they are ready to go wherever I go. They are true to size and even have a little stretch. A pair of these would be a great accessory for any dancer, gymnast, karate-ka, or really anyone who would like a nice-looking, comfortable “light” shoe/slipper. ... show more

    • Sweaty slippy mess

Let me preface this by saying that I live in hot, humid Florida -- so your mileage may vary on this review. These shoes are hot. And by hot, I mean uncomfortable, sweaty, non-breathing, swamp foot-roasting hot. And I wore these in the spring before temps reached their summery, air-swimming peak. I lasted half a day in my air-conditioned office before having to take them off under my desk. And when I put them back on, they kept popping off my ankles while the front of my feet played slip-and-slide on the footbed. I was not going to return them in obviously used condition, so I washed them, sprinkled them with baking soda, and donated them to a local thrift store where a more cold-blooded person than myself may get some use from them as house slippers in an arctic-air-conditioned home. Before I sign off, let me talk about the fit -- because it was pretty good, and you might get some good use out of these if you live in the frozen north. I wear a size 7.5-8 women's shoes USA/ 38 EU, and I have what can best be described as a "high volume" foot. My feet are a little wide at the toes, but they are a lot tall across the arch. The medium fit just fine, and the strap wasn't too tight. The back of the ankle on the shoes (where the tab is) goes up higher than my liking, and if you have sensitive feet, this may bug you. But it is soft and didn't cause any blistering up (which is surprising for how much my feet were slipping around in them once they started sweating). ... show more
