I know these are for kayaking and stuff. But I got them because I am tired of clunky rubber boots with very little movement, big fat soles and toe boxes that make walking awkward, especially through half melted snow. First try on, these boots feel snug. I had to pull up my pant legs as the boots would just push them up going on. They also felt tight on my foot. I thought, curses! Sizing was wrong! I sized one down as recommended for women (I usually wear a 6.5 or 7 in womens, and do not have wide feet or calves, so I got a 6). But, I figured I would see if they loosen up. I put them on using the method I use to get my waders on, fold down, put in foot, roll up leg, and they went right over my pants. So, I went and walked around my half melted yard. There's mud, there's gravel, there's rotten snow and layer's of ice under the puddles. No problems, I didn't feel the strain I normally feel when walking on uneven terrain like typical rubber boots. The ankles flex nicely, and they are super warm and grippy. The vamp on the foot felt like it relaxed as I moved, so my toes did not go numb as I expected, due to the tight fit in the foot. They do smell heavily of chemicals. I plan on putting them outside to destink for a while. Overall, exactly what I was looking for. Ease of movement, warm, and good grip. Time will tell on durability. I live a rough Alaskan life, so I'm curious to see how they hold up. I'll try and remember to update after some use. *Edit*: Still amazing, and I've bought a pair for both husband and son! Took them fishing for salmon, slayed em and stayed on my feet due to the amazing grip these have on slippery rocks and mud. At moose camp, I was impressed. They are very warm, and hiking in them was like hiking in tennis shoes. We could navigate the swamps and tussocks with ease(as gracefully as one can in that kind of terrain) or sit in the boat for hours without discomfort. My husband brought them out ocean fishing, and his buddy made fun of him for how they looked, then was impressed by the grip and ease of movement. He ordered a pair when they got home. Overall, a great product!

Let's just get this out, right up front: I'm not pleasant when I get cold. I also kayak fish and love to be out on the water all year round. Where I live (SE Coast), it doesn't really freeze, but it does get cold in the winter. More importantly, the water gets cold. My kayak is big and heavy, which means I often have to walk into the water to get her launched --- and my deck boots flood. Then my feet get cold and then, well, I can be unpleasant to be around because I complain, which takes my mind off of fishing, which is a crime. I read about these boots on a kayaking page I belong to, and decided to give them a go. Holy smokes...seriously. Game changer! My feet stay dry (not counting how they sweat a little because they ARE neoprene) and my feet stay warm. I wouldn't use them to ice fish, but then again, I don't ice fish, so that's not a concern. Since I bought mine, my boyfriend bought a pair (he loves his) and I've recommended them to several other kayak fishermen who also bought/love theirs. Totally flexible so they're super comfy - no pinch points, so I can wear them all day. I don't wear socks with mine, so I bought true to size. If you're planning on wearing socks, go up a size. They're snug on the calf, so if you're not skipping leg day, they may be really snug. If you're skipping leg day, they have a pull closure to tighten. Overall, a really great boot. Highly recommend.

Love these boots! I usually wear an 8.5 women's. Since no half sizes I got the 7 men's. They fit perfectly snug without being tight. I cannot wear socks with them for this reason. But I like them without socks. I was really surprised when I was in ankle high water and my feet were so comfortable, warm and completely dry. My only negative is why can you make half sizes! I would buy them to wear to work during our wet and nasty Northeast winters if you did. I'd buy them again if I needed to-

These boots are wonderful. Comfortable, just high enough to stay dry when boarding, warm, with just the right amount of structure and support for carrying a boat, but still almost like moccasins for squeezing into a tight kayak. I ordered a size 13 which I normally wear, but they were huge, and I didn't want my foot sliding around when I'm carrying a boat down a rocky beach, nor have lots of extra sole to squeeze into my skinny Greenlander kayak. So I returned them and this review is mostly about the vendor - they were excellent! Very good communication, and really tried to work with me to get a good solution. However they did not have my correct size in stock, and although theirs was more optimistic, predicted delivery dates at various vendors were all over the place but mostly later, with NRS themselves saying they wouldn't have any in stock til March. Not wanting to risk letting the season get away from me I eventually found the last pair of size 12 in stock in the known universe, bought them and cancelled my reorder with this vendor. I'm very impressed with this vendor for their superb customer service - so good that I felt bad for cancelling my replacement order, but I will not hesitate to buy from them again.
