This stuff has the consistency of cold honey. I bought it to use as an emulsifier in natural skin care products, and it doesn't dissolve in oil or water. Waste of money *Edit* So I got it to dissolve in oil and it definitely works as an emulsifier. Still hella thick but it works

I was trying to give it 5 stars but for some reason it wasn’t responding. I brought this product to use in my natural hair products to merge the oil and water to replace polysorbate 20. I really like the consistency it made my hair products and the sweet smell it.

I use this to make my homemade edibles. Helps the oil or butter adhere to your body. It is a gooey substance.

    • Not easy to mix with oils being infused for soap. The dark brown is also a disadvantage for me.
I am using this as an additive when making infused oils for my naturally colored soaps. It has a consistency of molasses or honey but poured just fine. I am hoping that the usage of lecithin will extend the shelf life of the infused oil mix - since I make more than I need at one time. I’m also hoping that it will have a similar effect in the soaps themselves. Of course without doing a science project, I have no way of knowing if my efforts will pay off. I did take off one star as the product doesn’t mix easily. My infuser had quite a bit of it stuck to the walls of the pot where it got flung during the mixing process. If the lecithin would have fully dissolved in the oils, that would not have happened. I ended up scraping the pot and adding the excess back to the infuser and gave it another short cycle to try to incorporate it. Based on the difficulty of incorporation in oils, I would not add it directly to a soap batch. I’m also very glad I have no plans to taste it as I doubt I could get it to mix with something palatable. I also knocked off one star because of its dark brown color. I understand sunflower lecithin can range from a yellowish brown to dark brown. I’m concerned that the addition of a dark brown color to oil I’m trying to dye to a specific color, may be defeating the purpose. ... show more
