The Nourison Essentials area rug is gorgeous! When I ordered, I was afraid it would be another low-quality, thin area rug, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's soft under the feet and flattened immediately after laying it down. The color is vibrant and authentic and complements my balcony decor. I chose this for strictly indoor use, and it is exactly what I needed. In looking at it, I dont think it would work for outdoor use. Not sure how it would drain as the backing appears solid. But the knap is super short, so it could work for protected outdoor spaces (just broom off debris). The backing has a light nub texture to help keep it in place on the floor, the seams are well stitched, and I dont notice any off coloring or cut. I placed it directly on top of another 5'x7' carpet of same size (style, and feel), and it all lines up perfectly. Size is exactly as expected. That being said, keep in mind that they include this in the description: "Due to the detailed construction of our rugs, both handmade and machine-made, sizes may vary by up to three inches in width or length." and, "Rug pad recommended" The coloring is exactly what I wanted. I have an old house that hasn't been updated since probably the 70s. My office room has this chartreuse green wallpaper that I am rather in love with. The room used to have cream carpeting, but after some failed attempts to clean it, I eventually tore it out and put down an extra area rug until I found a more coordinating color. I found that in this green color. It is a celery green, and it works well with my other greens in the room. I am giving it a generous 5 stars because it is exactly as expected, and it appears the same as it does in the picture. It meets my needs, and I would consider this brand again. However, if wallyworld had theirs in a color I needed, I would have gone with that for half the price. This is prettier though. I bought it when this was $52. It was more than I wanted to spend for a lightweight carpet, but the coloring was important to me. I dont rate on price anyway as we all have different budgets and needs. I focus more on quality, how an item matches product description, and how it works for my needs. For that, I say it all lines up, hence the 5 stars (4.5 if I could). PS. It came well wrapped. I was able to roll it out onto the floor and it took no time to lay flat. Looks great! If I see anything else, or if anything goes bad, I will be back to update. ... show more

First off, I think these rugs are very inexpensive so keep that in mind. I have several of them in my dining room and hallway. I've had them for a few months now and feel like I can finally review them. You will need a non-slip rug pad so that adds to the cost. The rugs look decent but not fancy, which is what I expected. But the edges curl really badly on some of them and not at all on others. Some of them are tripping hazards so I'm already getting rid of them. Others of them lay perfectly flat. They're all the same rug style and manufacturer so I'm not sure why some curl and some don't. If you're on a budget or if you know your old dog is going to ruin the rug anyway (which is my case) and you want something that looks decent, these are fine. But I'm not going to purchase any additional ones. ... show more

I was so scared when I got the package because it was so small and lightweight. It’s thin and low pile but that’s what I was looking for in a high traffic area. It takes some time to work the folds out but it looks and feels nice. I did not need a rug pad because all sides are weighted by furniture but I would think you might need one if you have a smaller size unweighted by heavy furniture. Perfect for defining our living area from our kitchen and dining room areas. I was between an 8’ or a 10’ because our previous rentable rug was 8x10. I’m glad I went with the 10’. Definitely opens up our living room area for more walkability and our cat already loves it. ... show more
