Users online seem to really hate Norton for slowing down their system and not providing good antivirus protection. If you do some research, you can find out that while its not the BEST, it is still pretty adequate, especially for its price. I like how it includes a VPN which I use all the time and avoids paying for another subscription. I've been using Norton for almost 6 years and haven't had too many issues. Just make sure to go under your account settings and cancel auto-renewal so that you don't get a surprise charge in the future. ... show more

Product advertised at a great price with no returns. Once you buy it and go to add to your Norton subscription they will not allow it. Sent note to Amazon…awaiting response.     • Good Product; Failed to Warn of Upcoming Renewal Charge

The pros are: The product works great. Easy to use and keeps you informed of issues. The cons are: 1. Upon purchase, whether from Amazon or directly from Norton, they require you to enter a renewal payment credit card or PayPal account to activate the installation and so they can charge you for your renewal at the end of the subscription period. In my case, the renewal date was 6-14-23. Today, 5-10-23, they charged my credit card , but they never sent the promised email notification ahead of time saying when or how much would be charged. The only way I knew this had occurred was today they sent me an email saying my subscription had been renewed and my card had been charged for $140. Fortunately, they do have a 60 day period after a direct purchase from them during which you can request a full refund, which I did promptly today. We'll see how long it takes before the refund arrives. (**UPDATE**: The refund was credited to my credit card on the same day I requested it, so they did a great job of honoring their agreement on that.) Now I'll start searching for a better price on this good Norton product to install after my current subscription expires. 2. You are constantly offered ways to add services to your subscription for an additional charge. The first few times are ok, but to do it all the time is not. The moral to the story is they didn't do what they advertised that they would do regarding providing a notice before charging your credit card to renew your subscription. But, you can stop the automatic renewal process on their website. They say that when you do this, they won't provide telephone support for your subscription after you stop the renewal process. I don't know if that's true or not, but just in case, I had planned to wait until just before my renewal date to stop the automatic renewal. However, they charged me without advance notice a full 34 days before the renewal date. So, you need to pay attention to the renewal date and stop the automatic renewal process at least 40 days or so before renewal date so you won't have to worry about getting charged without advance notice. ... show more

    • Destabilized my system requiring full wipe and OS reinstall to remedy

Not only did Norton 360 destabilize my system (completely - this was verified, and a complete wipe and clean OS install was required to remedy this), the company refused to refund my subscription cost. I could not use the application I purchased. Dealing with Norton support personnel on the phone was an exercise in frustration. Norton's offshore CSRs are hard to understand and often fail to understand you on the first attempt to explain your issue, repeating/parroting your words back to you without understanding them themselves, complete with the new "fake empathy" we now see in offshore call centers. They are also never empowered to actually help you and transfer you to random queues where you run into the same exact problem again and again. And at each stop on the carousel of endless support transfers, they will try and upsell you. Norton genuinely sucks. After several decades of paying for their software, I am done. I will no longer use any Norton products EVER again. Not recommended. ... show more

This is a reliable and efficient antivirus software from Norton. I had to return this as it was the wrong version, unfortunately they did not provide a return, but still this proved to be valuable and had use.

I've been using this software for many years, I like that it has the VPN, and dark web monitoring. I usually just shut the auto renewal off as soon as I install it so I don't have to worry about a large renewal fee. It's an extra step but it's not that difficult.
