I'm on my 3rd set of these. They seem to last me about 6 months before the heels are worn bald. I walk a strong-willed dog daily in these so the heels do get a fair workout during our tug-of-war walks. For the price and comfort that comes from being a softer boot, I think they last alright. Overall, they're quite comfortable right out of the box. They'll do OK in normal trail conditions but don't have much stiffness in the shank so if you navigate through rock fields you'll feel them in your soles. It's not terrible but just know that they're soft-soled. They're reasonably waterproof; a few inches of running water is not a problem. Once you get above the ankle you're getting wet socks.

I bought these because of the low price when compared to other hiking boots. I like that they have the top three laces that are hooks, making it easier to put on the boot. I also like that they are waterproof. I find them attractive enough (for a boot). i bought size twelve. They seem true to size, but are quite wide for supposedly a normal width. More than plenty enough room for thick winter socks. Oddly, the right boot seems even wider than that left. Maybe it's just me or maybe it's a quality control issue. Even with this I find them comfortable enough and cheap enough to keep them.

The hiking boots are mostly as expected. The question unanswered is, is the suede real leather? Leather is not mentioned in the boot tongue, nor is it mentioned on the box. Since there is little suede on the boots it may not be a big deal other than it was advertised as real suede leather, not manmade. I will keep them since I will not use them for hiking. Grip and comfort are what I was buying them for. I also like the removable insole as I use orthotics inserting them under the insole.

So, I'm overweight and so far the only company without then Wolverine price that lasts for me has been stuff from Nortiv8 I had a couple boots including a winter boot that has minor damage after constant use since I got them, another boot shoe that I damaged on accident after months of having them. No fault to Nortiv8 for that and now this pair. They are nice looking boot shoes and they hold up well since most boots or shoes could see flaws within days of use including more expensive brands I have had.will continue business with them.
