  • Keeps Feet Warm & Dry [UPDATED for Durability (see below) on 1/22/2024]
Size: 13 Color: Khaki/Brown
My snow boots were delivered yesterday on a sunny, warm day. However, today we have blizzard-like conditions and very cold weather. As such, I put these boots to work right away. My rating is based upon five elements that I consider as critical for snow boots: Price, Fit, Warmth, Traction and Durability. -Price: The price was excellent for these NORTIV boots. A few years ago, I paid $100 for a pair of Sorel snow boots which started falling apart two years later. This pair of NORTIV boots cost a little more than half of what I paid for the Sorel's. In short, the Price of these NORTIV's is a definite plus. -Fit: Buying snow boots is always a challenge for me due to my size 12 extra-wide feet. There are not many snow boots available in extra-wide sizes. Consequently, there is some guess work and luck involved when I shop for new snow boots. Especially when there are conflicting reviews where buyers claim the same snow boots' fit is either too big or too small. In this case, I went a size higher to 13. It was the right choice for me. These snow boots fit me just right. The D Rings (vice eyelets) permits me to get a wider opening when loosening the laces, which makes it much easier to get my feet inside and out of the boots. In short, the Fit of these NORTIV's is a definite plus. -Warmth: Obviously this includes Dryness because your feet can't be warm if they aren't dry. I'm breaking in these boots on a very stormy day. So far we've had heavy rain and sleet changing over to blizzard-like snow conditions along with temperatures crashing from the upper 40s to the low 20s. Sustained winds are at 25 mph with gusts to 50 mph. My feet are warm and dry in these extreme conditions. In short, Warmth of these NORTIV's is a definite plus. -Traction: Being able to navigate on foot through snowy conditions is very important to me. I have a 1/4 acre property in a suburban area that needs to be cleared of snow and ice after each winter storm. To do this, I must have good traction on my snow boots so that I can operate a snow thrower, use a snow shovel, and when necessary, utilize a roof rake to prevent ice dams. I was able to get around my property in these extreme winter storm conditions without slipping or falling with these NORTIV boots on. In short, Traction is a definite plus for these NORTIV's. -Durability: I will have to update my review at a later date to address Durability. [I'm aware of all the reviews citing the rear of these boots coming apart at ankle height.] For now, I will reserve my judgement on the Durability of these NORTIV's until a later date. [UPDATE as of 1/22/2024: The recent cold snap and severe Winter weather have allowed me to wear these NORTIV's on a daily basis. I'm pleased to say that they have held up extremely well in all kinds of adverse Winter weather conditions. They are well made snow boots based on my usage of them. In short, the Durability of these NORTIV's is a definite plus.] I've rated these NORTIV snow boots at 5 Stars. I hope other shoppers find my observations useful in their purchasing decisions. ... show more

  • So far so good! Warm, dry, comfortable--and BUDGET FRIENDLY!
Size: 10.5 Color: Khaki/Brown
I normally wear a 10 with boots, but rolled the dice and went with 10.5 on these and I'm glad I did. I think a 10 would have worked, but these are so comfortable with my thicker socks I think it's the right choice. I shoveled snow for a few hours a couple of days ago and my feet stayed dry and comfortable on their first wearing. The suede type leather at the bottom of the boot laces got damp, but the feet stayed warm and dry and the suede was dry within a day. An extra set of identical boot laces was included also, nice touch. I may order another pair for a friend just because I'm that happy with them and I'm pretty sure my friend would love them. If I encounter any problems I will issue an edit, but I don't anticipate anything at this stage of use, but time will tell. "Go an extra 1/2 size up from your normal boot size" would be my advice, because you can always fill some extra space with a larger sock, but it's not so easy the other way when the shoe/boot is too small. Hope this review helps. Thanks to NortIV 8 for making a budget-friendly winter boot for the masses! ... show more

  • Nice boots
Size: 13 Color: Khaki/Brown
Very comfortable boots. They keep my feet dry while working in water and snow Only complaint is they don't keep my feet warm enough. Will have to find some good shocks.

  • Very comfortable and light weight
Size: 8 Color: Khaki/Brown
Have needed a new pair of winter boots for quite awhile since my old pair was over twenty-five years old. Theses are very comfortable and easy to get on and off. They are much lighter than my old boots too. I can't attest to how warm they are if you're out in the cold for a long time, but they're nice and cozy for short periods outside in the cold. I'm in my sixties now and no longer engage in outdoor activities during the winter so they're perfect for clearing snow and getting around outdoors in the winter. I just bought the same size as my shoes and they fit perfect. I wear alpaca wool socks which are a bit thicker than your everyday tube socks and the boots aren't too tight. And they aren't too warm if you have them on for a longer period of time either. I went out to a pizza place with my daughter and wore them because it had snowed that day. We were indoors for around an hour and my feet stayed warm and comfy but not too hot. Wearing the right socks is so important! I learned that many years ago. Never cotton in the winter! And there are so many wools these days that are very comfortable for everyday use. I wear them all year around and my feet stay warm and dry. ... show more

  • Not for everyday use, but stylish for going out moderately
Size: 10 Color: Khaki/Brown
UPDATE 1 YEAR: I've had the loyalty to come back and update on these boots after 1 year. They are still intact. They have been used moderately for walking out in the street to do errands when there is snow on the floor and they do just fine. They are comfortable, they have been waterproof, and they do keep my feet warm. The one problem I've noticed is one of the top rings where the lace goes through has a natural tendancy to flip sideways which is not the correct way it should be and it doesn't stay correctly when I tie my laces. However it does no affect on the tiring of laces and still works to tighten the boots. Okayy i've purchased 3 pairs of different boots from this manufacture. For those who think that you can wear their boots for work everyday or daily use outdoor, the Nortiv8 boots just are not made that well. I believe these boots are cheaply made in China but if you take care of them with moderate use they will last some time. They give you an extra pair of laces. Insulation is only 200 grams but I've worn boots with more than 1000 grams that keep my feet just as warm as these. normally i am a size 10 in sneakers, 145 lbs, average height, and the size 10 fits perfect even with 2 pairs of socks in the winter. It seems as if they make the boots with just enough extra space accounting for thick socks or 2 pairs. I only wear Nortiv8 boots as secondary light to moderate use for walking out or going for a weekend trip...they will last and they look good but I wouldn't recommend them for hardcore rugged recreational use almost everyday. ... show more
