Ordered medium as a 5’9 male 165lb and they fit as advertised. These are great. The compression goes to my knees and the shorts stop about an inch or two above the knee. I wore them for a run with my phone in the pocket and the pocket doesn’t twist or flip (anyone that runs knows this can make or break a pair of shorts). The zippers function well and seem quality enough. I felt no irritation running or wearing these.

I've been hunting for the perfect workout short for the gym for a while and these shorts tick a lot of the feature boxes, 7" inseam, zip pockets, compression liner. They are made from mesh, a little different than the lightweight poly shorts I have been trying out and I'm not sure if I prefer the mesh. The mesh feels a little bulkier, not heavyweight but not as lightweight. One issue is that the compression liner is very long, almost down to my knees. I've had issues with other shorts having compression liners that are too short so it feels a bit like Goldilocks trying to get the right length. It does feature a nice big pocket on the liner, but with 2 zip pockets it feels a bit unnecessary to have. I might even end up cutting the compression liner out. The color was spot on and they fit true to size for me in a large. Good shorts that I will have in my gym rotation.

My Dad likes these shorts, which he wears to play basketball. The shorts are comfortable and stylish. However, the fabric is lightweight, and my father is concerned about the durability of these shorts as he washes his gym shorts often.

These shorts are very comfortable. This is the first pair I've tried with the liner on the inside, and it's very breathable. They also look very nice. Zip-up pockets. Good for working out or just for wearing around the house.

The media could not be loaded. I love these NORTHYARD athletic shorts. The fabric inside has an excellent phone holder. The exterior fabric is lightweight but strong and not transparent. The zippered pockets are perfect, the colors are cool, and the fit is ideal for me in the gym short category. The price is very reasonable for these as it is a quality garment made with modern materials that should hold up for a long time. Some people may be turned off by the length of the inner liner, personally I like this length. Positives: • Comfortable and good looking • Great zippered pockets • Good liner with phone pocket • Reasonable cost Negatives: • Not everyone will like the liner length (but it works for me) Overall, these are very nice athletic shorts and if you don’t have a pair like this you should try them as this is a great value and there is little to risk. That said I think you will like them after you wear them. 5 stars

"So, I ordered the Large size basd on the size chart in the listing. And the waist and the internal compression layer both fit beautifully, and the length of the outer layer on my legs is fine. However, the crotch fits much lower than it should. Now, I don't expect it to necessarily be super snug, but the fit here is unusually loose and saggy. I can't say it's uncomfortable. But to me it is distracting. Otherwise, the fabric is nice, as is the drawstring, and the two zippered side pockets. And finally the shorts have a pocket on the inner compression liner (right leg) to hold a phone, or perhaps keys. So, all in all, very nice shorts, except for that odd (for me anyway) fit issue."

These are really nice quality shorts that are comfortable to wear. Both the liner and the outer short have a good amount of stretch to them so they are comfortable to wear while working out. The color on the blue shorts is true to the photos on the website and a really nice navy. The zipper pockets are nice and deep and the zippers seem pretty easy to open / close. All the materials seem like good quality and are well stitched. I do feel like the sizing chart is a bit misleading. I ordered a L, which is what I would normally wear. After ordering it, I looked at the sizing chart and based on the height / weight combos immediately assumed I ordered too small of a pair, but they are fine and in fact might be just a tad big. I'd suggest to order your normal size and ignore their chart which I find confusing. Overall I really like these shorts and recommend them. Just don't rely too much on their size chart and I'd suggest you just order your normal size.
