This product has both sorbitol and xylitol and while they've been GRAS (generally regarded as safe) for a long time, recent research is starting to raise questions about the long-term adverse effects of both. Neither of them contribute to tooth decay and xylitol has even been shown to be beneficial for dental health, so that's a plus. But this product is intended for children so I'm not really sure these are the best sweeteners that could have been used. The gummies themselves are round orange dials about the size of a coin. They are a bit greasy and have a light orange flavor. I don't think the flavor is tasty enough nor is the consistency much like gummy candy to really delight children, but it's certainly better than a spoonful of cod liver oil. I think ultimately if a child is able to swallow a capsule, that might be a better choice as you avoid the extra unnecessary ingredients required to make fish oil sweet and somewhat candy-like. I wouldn't give this product to my children, and as an adult I'd rather just take fish oil in pills. These are very expensive at about $27 for 11 doses. I'd really take a hard look at other options. ... show more
