If the device is not working properly, take it to the nearest authorized service facility. How do I reboot my smartphone when it’s not responding? If your phone is unresponsive, you can perform a “soft reset” by pressing the volume up key and the power button simultaneously for about 15 seconds (or until phone vibrates). Your phone should then restart momentarily. This is a safe and quick way to reboot your device without losing or erasing any data. My phone won’t charge. What should I do? First ensure the issue isn't with the power source or socket you're using - you can quickly check this by plugging your phone into a different outlet, then checking if it charges. If the socket is not the issue, try taking a closer look at the power cable or charging port on your phone, ensuring everything appears as it should. Then, try turning your phone off completely and plugging it into the socket - bear in mind if the battery is completely drained, it might take up to 2 or 3 minutes to start charging. How can I contact support? Our customer support page offers a number of ways that you can contact support. Please visit the Nokia website for further assistance. How do I fix touch sensitivity issues on my phone? Before performing any additional troubleshooting steps, please ensure that your product does not show any physical damage, has not been exposed to water, the screen is clean, and your fingers and hands are not wet or dirty. Please also remove any 3rd party screen protectors that you may have on the device as non Nokia branded screen protectors may decrease the touch sensitivity of the device. If none of these solutions resolve the issue that you are facing, please perform a hard reset back to factory settings. Please note: a hard reset will completely erase all the data, settings and content on your smartphone, returning it to the original factory settings. We strongly advise that you back up your device before a hard reset. Visit here to learn more about how to back up your smartphone remotely. To reset your smartphone and erase all its content, first make sure your phone is connected to a power source. We also recommend that your battery is at least 50% charged when you perform a hard reset. Press the volume up key and the power button simultaneously for about 30 seconds or until the root menu appears. Then choose the action you want to take from the root menu, in this case “Wipe data/factory reset”. Alternatively, you can also perform a hard reset by tapping Settings > Backup & Reset > Factory data reset > Reset phone > Erase everything.

  • Great phone
Color: Polar Night
Great phone for the price. A few things I wish it had that it doesn't need but would make it a 5 star phone to me. Comes with Android 10 currently. I expect Android 11 to not count against the 2 system upgrades, and if it does, might not ever buy another Nokia. However, true all Android manufacturers still stink as far as this goes. Will see how Nokia does, if they meet my expectations or not but they won't be worse than Motorola anyway. The phone lacks 5GHz wifi and wifi ac, always on display is half baked as tap or blink on, a loud and obnoxious startup sound that can't be disabled in settings, and it doesn't need an Android assistant dedicated button (would be nice to repurpose that). One thing I'm spoiled with on Samsung phones is an amazing power save mode that can easily double battery life at a minimum. This phone only has the standard Android one. Android 10 introduces new navigation system. If you hate is as I do, you can switch back to the 3 button on screen navigation from system gesture settings. A test photo turned out well. I like the picture quality. Photo people I don't understand, so flame on if you think it stinks, and go spend more to get a camera you think looks good. This one passes for me and I don't like stinky looking photos. The screen looks nice, performance seems good, plenty of space and sd card makes it very roomy. There's a lot to like and not much missing for the price. Impressed at the cost with what you get but a few little things more would have made it absolutely amazing. I recommend since other manufacturers at this price or less brand new are not as good as this. Example, Moto does updates so poorly and those are something you need to have. Update 1: I see Nokia took a nosedive on OS upgrades. The 5.4 currently has no Android 11 upgrade in sight and Nokia posted 2021 schedule without it. Considering they are only just now getting Android 11 out to their existing devices -which is a long delay - I'm not expecting it to show up until sometime in 2022 unless they somehow fix their schedule. If their schedule is that broken, it will be interesting to see how they treat their customers as far as OS upgrades go once Jan 2024 passes. The 5.4 is an Android 11 ready device so it should in reality be getting it soon but Android 12 may be out before it even gets Android 11. That means the current OS might become two versions behind this year alone. Still, four stars is about right. It is at least roughly getting monthly security updates and only a lot of time will tell how the OS upgrades really go. Update 2: Nokia wised up and included the 5.4 on their revised Android 11 schedule and it should be soon. They at least made a proper correction of their schedule. Not that their schedule is great but its an improvement for the 5.4 at this time. ... show more

  • Solid Value
Color: Polar Night
Bang for the buck and dependability are factors Nokia always strives for in their devices and the Nokia 5.4 fits right in. If you've been using Nokia for years as I have then you understand and appreciate this about the brand. The pros and cons of the phone add up to show the thoughtful balance to reach the price point and not disappoint. PROS *where they put your money*: Battery life @ 4000 mAh Processing speed and graphics from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 128GB storage and 4GB RAM Fingerprint reader Capable quad camera w/ 48MP sensor and 36.7mm f/1.8 main lens and Electronic Image Stabilization Type C 2.0 w/ rapid charging and rapid data transfer Solid build, finish and styling Android One and 3 years of security patches CONS *where they saved you money*: 720p Screen, higher pixel density would definitely help in brightest sun No dual band WiFi Older Bluetooth 4.2 For me that puts the balance way over to the positive and I can understand the tradeoffs to make the price. *Personal Gripe* I don't like the 19.5:9 aspect ratio, especially on this size screen (6.39" diagonal) as it stretches things out too far for my finger length. I understand that this is the trend. People want larger screens and the old 16:9 ratio that was common made phones too wide for comfort at 6" and above. Now I think we've gone too far in stretching the length. ... show more

  • Functions just fine
Color: Polar Night
I gave the fingerprint reader a three because it is difficult to get to with a protective case. The only real issue I had was the included screen protector: it is only a plastic scratch protector, not a glass impact protector. I learned this the hard way. Peel that dumb thing off and replace with impact glass. Other than that, the reception is fine and the battery life is good. ... show more

  • Ended up disappointed
Color: Polar Night
I used to love the old Nokia phones so I really wanted to try the Android version and I was really excited! Unfortunately, I quickly ran into the issue that the phone would completely freeze up for a few minutes and I could absolutely do nothing about it. I also frequently was able to swipe up and down but could not actually click on anything. The finger print sensor started working less well recently. Also, the power button started getting touchy with me and i ended up accidentally calling 911 a few times without even realizing I did. I have tried to figure out if i can disable that feature but was not able to figure out how. The battery life is good enough for my needs. If I didn't video call or watch videos, I could easily go two days without charging it. ... show more

  • Nice phone, way to go NOKIA!
Color: Polar Night
Haven't owned a Nokia phone since early 2000, but have been waiting for this 5.4 ever since it was announced. I must admit, I am not disappointed. The blue color looks great when the light reflects on it. It feels great while holding it in hand as it is light but sturdy in the same time. Installing and migrating the apps from my previous phone was a breeze. No lags at all while using the phone and browsing and switching through the apps. Fingerprint reader works well, not sure why other reviewers state otherwise. The screen is bright, with nice contrasts. I keep the "Night Light" setting ON all the time just like on my previous phone. Sound is crisp and appreciate the fact that it comes with 3.5 audio jack and its own headset. I would have preferred the speaker be placed in such a way that faces the user (like on my previous Pixel 3XL that I managed to crack the screen)... but "hey", that's not a deal breaker.. Camera quality is decent, not at the Google Pixel level though. By now, Nokia announced the new X20, that may be a better option.. ... show more
