Here's the deal with these shorts. I'm 5'5" 135lbs. I bought a medium and a small. The mediums fit better around my waist but there's way too much fabric. The smalls are a bit tight around my waist but everything else is good. So what I did was, I cut out the inside liner so I could wear them higher on my waist and they feel much better. The problem for me was that the liner was making it so I had to wear the shirts too low; causing a sausage casing situation- not flattering . I'm also not sure what the lining is for in womens' shorts. Our biology does not require them; unlike men.
