The bag is strong and well created, if you are 12. My Son is 17, 6 foot 8 and has a size 15 shoe. Unfortunately, a pair of high top basketball shoes would not fit into this bag if he had a water bottle in it. I guess I was expecting a gym sack that was designed for an adult lifestyle.
