Compared this to a few scopes (Vortex Viper, Leupold VX-6 HD, and Swarovski Z3) and liked this one the most. In my opinion, the glass is better than two of them, but the turret made up the final decision when compared to the better glass one. I have used several Nightforce scopes and was very impressed by how reliable and solid they feel and are. I decided to buy this scope for my 308 single bolt rifle. I received the scope in excellent condition. Installing it was straightforward. I used Talley rings for the Mauser M18. Zeroed the scope at 100 meters, at 400 meters under high magnification the eye relief becomes challenging... tried adjusting the diopter, parallax to no avail. A bit disappointing.. I will have to remove the scope from the 308 and install it on a smaller caliber with less recoil. ... show more

I've got scopes by Leupold, Trijicon, Vortex and Nightforce, and although they all have their places, this one falls directly beneath my Nightforce NXS, at a fraction of the cost, and with some features that I actually like MORE than the NXS, such as the fact that the variable magnification ring doesn't spin the entire optical side of the scope, rendering flip up caps useless on the NXS. Clarity is phenomenal, and although I wish the entire reticle were illuminated, the small cross section that is certainly serves its purpose well. You won't regret slapping one of these on your favorite rifle. This one found its way onto my LaRue Tactical 308 and I couldn't be happier. ... show more
