I’ve bought my fourth one so I do like these. I only had a problem with one, and I was able to get a new one in exchange to replace it. These work really well when you need a book case, but don’t have a lot of space. They’re nice looking and practical so I’ll upgrade my stars to 5. I liked how easy it was to pull it out of the box and assemble. The shelves fall right into place. I was able to mount the two pieces on top of each other without any problems as well as the top shelf piece. Everything fit perfectly. I made sure to clean out any styrofoam that got into dowel holes where the two pieces connect. It’s composed of really nice solid wood and the hardware seems to be of a good quality. The finish matches my bedroom furniture pretty well. I doubt it will break easily because of the quality, and I’m sure it will last a very long time. These are two, narrow l, tall pieces that fit on top of each other so it’s not the most stable, but I figured it wouldn’t be. I’ll latch to the wall with something from the hardware store since it didn’t come with anything to latch it. It would also be nice if there were a designated bottom because the two pieces were interchangeable. If there was one that was specifically supposed to be the bottom piece, I couldn’t tell. Adding pads that could be added to whichever one you choose to be the bottom piece would be helpful so you don’t scratch up your hardwood floor. I will add felt ones when I get the chance. I would probably buy another one if I needed one. I’m pleasantly surprised by how nice it is. So, I bought another one, and unfortunately, the second one came with some cracks and scrapes. One bottom shelf was split in half on delivery per photo. I tried to request replacement of just one unit as I really like the unit and quality of the wood but amazon customer service said I would have to box it back up and return the whole unit after I had already positioned one unit in place and carried it upstairs. The best thing about this item is that it requires no assembly and is good looking, however amazon customer service was terrible, not allowing replacement of just the broken part or providing any way to contact the seller directly. It was no fault of the seller that amazon delivered it damaged which is why I gave it highest rating. It was well packaged but one piece of wood snapped in half. I would buy it again. ... show more

I needed to replace a bookcase that was literally, bending in the middle from the weight of my books. I noted some negative reviews of this product, but I ordered it anyway. It arrived packed in a sturdy box with a ton of styrofoam, which promptly scattered all over the barn. That's the only bad thing I have to say about this bookcase. It was a snap to assemble...essentially, unfold it ad put the top on. It didn't stink, the holes in the top lined up perfectly with the dowels in the upper levels and the bookcase itself is very sturdy. I put knickknacks on the smaller shelves, so the entire bookcase is functional. The bookcase is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Now, if I could only convince my Mini Rex rabbit to stop chewing on it.................... ... show more

    • Flip, stack, done...this bookcase is no flop
This bookcase comes in two pieces. Open the box, flip the shelves, stack the two pieces and that's it, you're done. This shelf is of higher quality and more sturdy than I anticipated. I had a small corner space and a need for easy-access storage and this fit the bill. The design is also transitional enough to fit into many settings. I wondered if the two-piece design would look cheap but in the brown, we don't even notice it. Also, I noticed someone said they were concerned about stability. While this shelf does not have brackets to connect the upper and lower sections, it did come with two stabilizing straps, glue and screws to attach the unit to a wall if you want. I stalked the listing for these shelves for years! I was very concerned when they were out of stock for a long time. I had a very specific place for them. Barely anything else on the market fit there and none that did looked nearly so nice as these shelves. I’m very happy to finally have them! They did not disappoint - packed carefully, super easy to set up, and they look beautiful. I added a bracket where the top & bottom halves meet for extra stability because we have careless kids and precocious cats. This is a simple shelf to unfold and stack. Be aware that the base is SMALL compared to the height, so an anchor to the wall is a good idea. I would not recommend the taller shelves (ie stacking one on another to get the taller shelf) when placing on a carpet. Depending on the depth of the carpet the legs tend to dig in/ or not and the shelves tip and lean. I purchased the large and 2 small 1/2 circle to make an nice shelf set along a wall. the problem is that a baseboard in a home prevents the tight placement of the bases against the wall and the carpet makes the whole thing wonkey! I think this issue is better when placed on time or hardwood floors, but consider the flooring when purchasing the tall units. ... show more

    • Beautiful oak shelf, just the right size and easy to assemble.
I love the oak and nice finish, well made and sturdy. I did not use for a bookshelf but in the pantry for drinks, a shame not to show it off but its just the right size for what i needed.

This shelf fits perfectly in a small space. It's made from real wood, and I assembled it alone in about 60 seconds, and taking it apart again will be equally easy. The medium oak color is slightly lighter than in the picture, but I like it better.
