Truly life changing sound barrier curtains!!! They definitely help with the quality of sleep, quietness, and solace for me and my whole family. The sound isolation is incredible! There was so much noise pollution around with constant main road traffic, pool/deck construction and chainsaws next door, water main construction on the main road with giant trucks/bulldozers and jackhammers, multiple lawn mowers, outdoor concert noise, birds constantly chirping, and weekly Brazilian parties. Especially with people coming out of the woodworks after the pandemic with the noisiest, most annoying things on the planet all at once. These curtains truly dampened ALL that noise to a distance or to completely nothing. Almost all of it gone. Our sleep at night has dramatically improved and deepened. Best in our lives and finally feeling fully rested. I used to wear sleep masks daily for years but haven't needed to since I got these. Completely pitch black as seen in my photos. It feels like we're in a luxury hotel resort. THAT'S how good they are. Keeps the room cool during summer nights as well. I installed these in my master bedroom and my older daughter's room so far. Will get more for my son's room and downstairs later on. I've noticed a lot of people complain that they don't provide any sound proofing or blackout at all but what I'm realizing is that they are NOT installing these properly. Did A LOT of research on this. The rule is that the curtain width should be 2.5x the window width. i.e. My windows are 44" wide and 2 panels together are 104". The 2.5x rule is good because you have a nice amount of wave folds/S folds to absorb more sounds. But if the curtains were closed flat, not isolating much at all (I suggest more panels than doubling up so you get the same amount of waviness as seen in my last photo with the curtains closed and door open). I purchased 6x 84" curtains so they can be mounted 6-9" ABOVE the window and 12-20" BELOW the window, plus 5-6" WIDER than EACH side of the window. That way it blocks more sound waves and provides full coverage PAST the edges of the window. Had you installed edge to edge from top to bottom and side to side matching the same height and width of your windows, there's no coverage and obviously there will be sound leakage through the sides and light will pass through. (Duh?) The ones in my daughter's room are mounted only 6" higher and I still notice a difference when mounted higher at 9". Above, below, and wider REALLY matter. I originally bought 2x 63" to save money but ultimately decided to return them bc my windows were only 55" tall. So there clearly wouldn't be enough coverage at the bottom. I re-bought all matching 84" so they were all full length. I could have probably went for the 95" full ceiling to floor coverage but 84" still works. These triple layer sound barrier 100% blackout curtains are perfect. I tried Nicetown's Dust Isolate Non-Oily Particle Quadra layer curtains and the sound isolation was 3-4 decibels higher than these. Not as good sound wise. Most likely bc when Nicetown fused the 2 inner layers together, the tiny holes don't block sound as well as these curtains with the solid felt layer in the middle. So I had to return those too for these bc lower decibels matter more to me than the breathing protection filter feature. Now I'm super happy and at peace. Truly up-leveling life with these curtains!

These Do Deaden Sound

The sound muffling really works. My husband’s office has glass doors. We needed to isolate his Zoom meetings from me, the dogs, general life in the house. I put these up to close during meetings and they make a tremendous difference.

Thick and good quality but not sound blocking

They are great blackout curtains, thick material and good quality. There does seem to be some sort of extra fabric layer but I think any found blocking just comes from having thick fabric, there is nothing special about them for noise in my opinion.

Amazing what these curtains do!

I will start by saying that I have many blackout curtains in my home and have for many years. I work night shift and like a pitch black room. I didn't realize they had sound reducing curtains. I recently moved and there is a very old 8 foot patio door. You can hear everything through it. I was amazed I heard my phone notification through it, when I was outside, with phone inside. You can hear neighbors just talking casually, through it. My central air unit is right outside that door, along with the neighbors garage, fairly close. Very noisy, so I began searching sound barriers and these curtains came up. I figured, why not gone them a try. I got a heavy duty curtain rod and ordered 4 panels of these. I heard the more folds, the more sound blocking properties. These curtains are pretty heavy and very think. They look really nice and very high quality, in every way. Stitching is top notch. Once they were hung, I noticed how it totally changed the sound in my living room. My central air kicked on and that's when my mind was blown! I barely could hear it kick on and then couldn't hear it running. Previously I could hear it fairly loud, when running. I would say it reduced the AC sound, by 75%. No joke. For neighbors garage noise, like car doors and engine's, I would say reduced it about 50%. Just depends on the type of sound frequency. For me, it helped on all the sounds I was having issues with. I was very skeptical, so that shows you how good these really are. For lower frequencies, like Bass from a subwoofer, it won't help much but all the higher frequencies, get vastly reduced. I love the white on the backside, instead of the Black, on alot of Blackout curtains. These are triple layered and the Black is in the middle. If you just want Blackout curtains, you can find cheaper but if you need them with sound reduction, these are the ones you want! Sorry for bad punctuation and sentence structure. Not my strong suit. I just wanted people to know how good these really are for sound.

VERY THICK AND HEAVY
there is a considerable reduction in the amount of sound that these curtains help with! my home office has a 12' wide loft opening instead of a normal wall. it's great for sunlight, but bad for noise from the rest of the house. if someone is watching tv downstairs, i can hear everything, and vice versa if i'm on a conference call. after a lot of research, i decided on these curtains (two pair) and a 144" x 1" thick amazon basics curtain rod. i recommend them!

I don't think I've ever wanted to rave about a product like I do these curtains. Excellent craftsmanship! The curtains are the best I have ever purchased not only in looks, but also how well they do what the manufacturer said. The quality of materials exceeded my expectations. These are like buying custom made drapes. They are beautiful to look at, the material is thick and soft. The liner surpasses every single curtain that I bought before this. I use them in the winter in my three season sun room to help keep my plants warm at night now that the temperatures have dropped below freezing and I brought my plants in. The velvet is so pretty and it blocks cold and noise so well I am truly amazed. I have summer curtains up during the hot months to help block out the sun rays but, I like the look of these so much I think I will leave them up all year round. My sun room stays much warmer than I have ever experienced with other cold blocking curtains. 5 stars for every aspect of this product in looks, quality of the fabrics to how well it actually does what it says. Bravo!

Great for darkening, okay for other uses.

I first bought these white floor-length (84” x 52”) curtains in May 2020 (for $85) and combined them with a third middle curtain, Kwik-Hang brackets and a "Amazon Basics" curtain rod, and since then they have all worked okay! I may change out my curtains and install a cornice someday, but here is a brief performance review given my current setup for my west-facing first-floor bedroom that faces the street. Personal pros: -The thin middle layer/lining places the blackout effect closer to 70% than 100% even factoring in the two inches my curtain brackets set my curtain rod back. The blackout effect is 100% effective until about 10AM (at which more light begins shining through the curtains) and least effective from noon until about 5PM. -Nice white color absolutely glows under bright enough lighting and there are minimal packing folds and smudges visible. -Smooth texture with an easy-to-remove middle liner. Personal cons: -Noise reducing effect is closer to 20% as outside speech, footsteps, cars and more are clearly audible. There is slight muffling from the sidewalk but none whatsoever mere feet from the window. -Thermal-insulating effect is closer to 50%; while the cold is kept at bay through the middle it easily seeps through the bottom even with layering. -Dust-proof effect is closer to 20% as the curtains easily attract dust but it is just as easy to clean off. Overall I would say these curtains are best at blocking light, okay at thermal-insulation and under-perform in terms of noise reduction and dust-proofing. Granted they are set almost two inches from my windows and thus might perform marginally better if they were moved closer, but it is still hard to say because although the curtains are heavy, each individual layer is sliver-thin. Nonetheless for the average performance they give and for the fact that they have easily lasted almost four years now, I give the “NICETOWN 100% Blackout Window Curtains, Cold, Heat and Full Light Blocking Drapes with Felt Fabric Lining for Nursery, 84 inches Thermal Insulated Draperies (White, 2 PCs, 52 inches Wide Each Panel)” a serviceable 3/5 stars!

I live near a Navy base and the jets will fly constantly at all hours and unfortunately Im a light sleeper. I tried talking to the Navy but they have no intention to limit their operations. I decided to sound proof my bedroom. Initially I bought the original model, then these ones came out. I compared them side by side and these are truly thicker, heavier and have additional layering. These are heavy to make sure your curtain rod is on a stud, Im sure anchors will not do good enough if you have 4 or more curtain panels. So far I noticed a difference in noise so far these are worth the extra money considering "true" sound proofing is very very expensive. I recommend add additional seals to your windows and weather stripping to your doors in your bedroom. Not one single product will sound proof, it has to be an entire system so keep expectations realistic. On average these lowered the decibels from the outside 5-7 dbs.
