Not just for house windows … must haves. Epic price. Perfect more many uses. During renovations of a vintage 1900 property figured out having a curtain snug the windows is the best way to curb the cold and up the R value. Or, help during extreme heat. Another epic use, the Jeep used for travel like an RV is equipped with these on three sides in the back. Reflectix for the front window and custom made for the half door windows. Assisting in making the interior a tiny oven keeping us warm when the temp dips at night. And, keeps the light out easy peasy. Most windows we use one panel. Drawing them in the opposite direction using black spring loaded rods. This technique has helped during renovations for privacy. Keeps the rooms much warmer in winter. And, unless I move the curtain the smoking hot sun can’t break the barrier. With the black out ability we’re able to sleep in as needed. At home or on the road. Driving late into the night it’s wonderful to sleep past dawn as needed. For those enjoying the travel option, for sound, train on brown noise throughout the year. You’ll get exceptional sleep. With incredible sunrises. I like to park with the tailgate toward fields in places like Montana and the mountains along the coast. But could be anywhere. A big plus, discounts on second, third, and more orders of the same size. If you’re looking for fancy, these can dress up a window with a linen curtain between the window and curtain. Using similar black spring rod. I prefer a single panel. If you’re handy could cut the curtain in half. Stitch an edge. Custom fit to the window and now ya have two halves for opening both directions. Showcasing the linen panel underneath. I prefer a single linen panel. Shades the room from sun in summer. These blinds fit my window perfectly and despite being a bit heavy (I don't think it's such a bad thing honestly) they do the job perfectly. The color I chose (gray) is very even and has no irregularities. The stitching on the upper part of the curtain seems to be quite sturdy and I could see th se lasting for quite a long time. I expected these to be cheap and thin material. Not so. Very good medium weight material which is sewn very well. Blackout? Not quite. They have no backing such as latex or plastic. I have them on a west window and they do a pretty good job of blocking light in addition to the reflective film that is already on the windows. Definitely helps bring down the room temperature in the late afternoon. I don't think you could buy material of this quality and sew them yourself for this price. ... show more

I needed something to cover my kitchen window as the blinds broke (grrr). So I ordered something in a hurry and picked a color and size that is close to what I wanted. I also need light blocking abilities as my house gets so hot in the summertime and any sun blockage during hot days is helpful. I got these curtains a day after I ordered them and was surprised at how soft they were. I hung them up immediately and though they weren't the length I wanted which was 37 inches but got 36 which was sufficient. The color is lovely (peacock blue) and they do a pretty good job of stopping the bright light. They are NOT room darkening however as light does filter through these curtains. These were EXACTLY as described! Black ones block almost all the light. Smooth easy to clean fabric. And if they are too short when you use the pocket on the rod, use curtain rings to give you more length. Well worth every penny!

Love these! They are heavyweights and definitely block the sunlight. I love the material they are made of. They washed like a dream in the recommended cold water and dried wrinkle free in the cool dryer. I highly recommend these to anyone wanting light blocking curtains!

Originally I bought some curtains from Big Lots, they were suppose to be temp control curtains/black out, but they were see through! And very thin, cheaply made. Ended up buying these which were way cheaper for more, and not see through at all. Ended up putting the Big Lots curtains in the middle and black out shades on the sides. Stop looking at get these. They are very thick, and high quality. Our upstairs townhome gets so hot in the spring/summer and I can already feel a difference. ... show more
