These curtains seem to be well made. They filter out the light well, but if you’re looking for 100% blackout, these aren’t it. I didn’t have hooks, so I just fed the loops onto the rod. If I was to buy the hooks, the curtain would then have more “waves” to it, causing it to not be wide enough for my window, so keep that in mind if you’re covering a single bedroom window with one curtain, for instance. I got these for a south facing window that has sunlight for the majority of the day. The current silk drapes hanging there didn't do much to block the glare. These are not lined or insulated in the way of traditional multi layered fabric drapes. Instead there seems to be a coating on the back of the fabric that helps them with light blocking. These are not blackout drapes but they definitely darken the room a lot. I have vertical blinds behind them so the two together do a great job. I tend to prefer the traditional drapes for weight and appearance but these give a clean minimalist look. I hung them using the loops in the back and the pinch pleats would probably look better. Honestly I prefer the grommet top curtains since they slide neatly out of the way and tend to form neat pleats when opened. They do block a lot of the light and the stitching is neat and allows the fabric to hang well. There is more gray than I expected in these but they are still lovely and do the job they were intended for. ... show more

I am a huge fan of NICETOWN curtains. I think they make high quality curtain panels that rival any custom drapery. The set of panels are even, well made and true to length. They keep the NY winter draft out from the windows and dramatically shut out the morning sun. The stitching is very nice and you have a choice of poll or back tabs hanging. These are some really beautiful heavy drape curtains. I’ve never seen the back of curtains like that but I do find that it’s cute. You just need to steam it to see the true beauty of it. It is thick and keeps light out
