For the price these are pretty good curtains. They do block out a lot of light, but I definitely would not call them light blocking. They do a very good job just not a great job, therefor 4 stars.

I bought these curtains because I was looking for a pair that would stretch across a 11ft bay window. I wanted privacy but didn’t look bad when open. These were advertised as blackout curtains but they definitely are not. I think they are actually a little shorter than described but it worked fine for my purposes. Look nice. You just about can't beat the price on these Nicetown curtains. They are a great bargain, especially if you get them on sale, like we did. The microfiber fabric feels nice and the gray curtains we got are pretty good at blackout (I don't know if the lighter colors would be as effective); maybe not 100% blackout, but about 80%. These do have lower quality control in the sewing than a more expensive pair of curtains, and we found that of the 4 total pairs we bought they we sometimes uneven so they did not match up at the exact height in the middle. But they are functional and very affordable, so if you don't mind a little imperfection, these do an excellent job! ... show more

Curtains installed easily and were not wrinkled out of the package. I ordered 2 pair. Unfortunately, the stitching was noticeably different between the 2 packages. Having these up on the same rod, it was very noticeable. That was disappointing. I would still recommend purchasing. I bought the beige color. The material is soft to the touch. It does keep the street light from shining in, which was the purpose for the guest room. They are not see through, which is added privacy.
