The imager unit is excellent. Model number is reported as H1612 but included documentation refers to it as a H1605C. Mine has a Sony IMX415 sensor inside making it an 8MP unit. Takes 4K stills and video. Dynamic range and auto-exposure are both very good. Lens focuses easily, has a good working distance and reasonable field flatness and depth of field. Supports 4K over HDMI and USB (!). USB shows up as a basic UVC camera and can be used with the windows Camera application, amcap, etc. There is a slight delay, but this workflow allows capturing pictures quickly without needing to pull the SD card. No OSD or digital zoom available (not a big loss) over USB. HDMI has minimal delay and exposes the OSD. Only one output may be active at once, but all you need to do is close the PC-side capture application to re-enable HDMI. The mount is a mixed bag. The arm itself is very good, very solid. However the arm mount is loose due to an undersized bushing, and the ball mount up top is mediocre. Overall it's perfectly functional and a major part of why I bought this unit. I don't use the light ring. It's mediocre, if functional. Poor CRI and cold temperature. Happily my desk work lighting is more than enough combined with the excellent imager to make the ring unneeded. No remote battery included, accepts a CR2032. The IR receiver is on the top of the camera so you may need to hold the remote above the imager to use it. The remote so seldom needs to be used for me it's not a real complaint. Basic HDMI and USB-C cables and USB-A power supply. Overall, I think it's a good value for money if just for the imager and lens. The mount is serviceable but with improved quality it'd make the package much better.

I saw another review that said that the remote and the buttons on the microscope do not function at all. This was the case for me when I first unboxed it and turned it on and it seemed to be pretty useless. However as soon as I put in a microSD card that was formatted correctly all of the functions started working. Every single button on the remote has a function and every single button on the microscope works correctly. If I hadn't put in the memory card I would have called this the worst microscope I've ever used but now I actually love it.

really good quality camera for PCB SMD work. I can keep it way above the work surface (22") and it still has sufficient magnification to work on 0402 SMD parts and with a great field of view. The only issue I had with it is I thought it was broken when I first tried to power it on. I used a USB-C cable from a PD power supply and it would not function. The device is missing the USB_CC pull down resistors. It will work with the USB-A to C adapter it came with and with any USB-A power supply (constant 5V).

So sorry to report, this camera is unfortunately what they call a 'bait and switch' as far as what it can do. The remote shows all kinds of abilities, but it can ONLY SWITCH LEFT AND RIGHT, TOP AND BOTTOM. The nice buttons on the back of the camera show items that don't work at all, such as the most surprising one, 'Menu'. No menu. No zoom, nothing of any real use at all. I only now looked at it so I can't return it, but I would NEVER buy this, as it is one of those 'other country rip-offs' (if you know, you know). It has ONE magnification, 150... so even at 5 feet (supposedly focus is only to 1 meter, but nothing they said in the description is accurate), you can see 1/2 of someone's head, but you can count the hairs. I am SO sorry to say this is garbage in my mind. It's a 4K camera with a not so great arm mount. The ONLY thing it is good for is close ups on circuit board, and your 'magnification' has to be via moving that shakey arm up and down, and painfully try to focus for a good picture. I'm very sorry I believed the lies and bought this. NOT good for youtube stuff other than a super closeup on a circuit board.

It works well, but the resolution isn't was I expected. The screen projection isn't good for large circuit board. If you move the camera further away, you cannot obtain a favorable projection.
