I had hesitated wondering if this box could hold a range of supplies, but it can. Adjustable vertical canvas holder at the top of the box causes a bolt to appear at the upper middle of the surface which isn’t ideal for paper, but it’s manageable. Bottom canvas rest is handy for holding instruments. Surface is smooth. Angle of the surface is easily adjustable. Minimal assembly required, nothing too complicated. Two clasps of pretty good quality and a leather handle at the top. The box is meant to lay horizontally since the little rubber feet are at the “back” of the box which forms the base when the surface is used. There are no feet at the bottom/adjacent to the handle. The storage area inside the box is somewhat customizable, but can still hold a good amount of stuff with all dividers intact. For example, my box - with all dividers - can hold a 24 ct flat tin of colored pencils, 12ct flat tin of pencils, a flat tin of watercolor, two-layer tin of 24ct colored pencils, three-layer tin of 36ct colored pencils, erasers, pencil lead refills, sharpener, several blending stumps, gel pens, brushes, multiple pencil extenders, AND STILL CLOSE. It takes a little playing with the arrangement, but even so, it can fit a good amount of stuff. I’m sure this would be even easier if the wooden dividers were actually removed. 10/10

I originally bought this just as a work surface for Diamond Art, but I now use this to keep all of my diamond art supplies together. The interior is perfect with sections to hold all the supplies and the actual canvas as well, so everything is protected, yet easily transported or put away when not in use. I love the adjustable worktop angle to work on different parts of the canvas or different lighting conditions. It turned out my “work surface” turned out to be wonderfully functional.

i bought this for my dad for christmas! he has been making art and going to classes since before i was alive and his tools haven't changed at all in that time. he's getting older and i want him to be able to make art comfortably, so i felt like a desktop easel was the perfect way to reduce the strain of sitting at a stool or bending over a sketch board/book. i loved that this easel also has storage long enough for brushes and spacious enough for many tubes of paint or drawing essentials. honestly, it has enough space for both! it is pretty sturdy and holds up to minor pressure well due to manual bolts and rubber feet on the bottom to prevent sliding. there is a tiny amount of assembly required, no tools needed. the wood isn't the best quality (some of the edges are a little sharp), but i can't complain for the price. especially since he has always used cigar boxes for his tools! he loved it and can't wait to take it with him especially when he travels.

My son loves this product! He is an avid artist and this is perfect for him to use at his desk or travel with. It is very sturdy. It fits a standard size paper or canvas. You can adjust the height a little to accommodate for larger canvas. It comes assembled! It is easy to move around with!

this is a nice easel and the box is nice, but the way the dividers are set up does not allow room to put a sketch pad inside the box for travel. If that doesn't make a difference to you then this box would be great for you. I was hoping to use it to bring with me while I visited my son. I wanted to bring my sketch book and charcoal products. Unfortunately, no matter how I tried to change the dividers or not even use them I was not able to put my sketch pad in the box and be able to close the box.
