Read the reviews and took a chance. Actually purchased two mats to double the protection and it still burned my grass…if you plan on using this for a fire pit, don’t waste your money! **update** seller has been responsive to refund requests. Added one star for that. They said a second generation mat will be sent out and a refund provided for the previous purchase. I’ll bump up one more star once they actually ship the next mat…and provide a separate review on the second generation mat. **Final update** received the second generation mat and it appears to be much better quality. I haven’t used it yet, but have confidence this one will not burn through. Customer service throughout this return/refund/resolution was excellent.

This mat has a good construction and stitching. It does protect the surface you are heating on. It is a bit thin which allows it to get blown by the wind around the edges that are not weighed down. Overall it is functional but could be a little thicker for durability and the help weight it down.

Not much tho say about this mat other than I absolutely love it and have make my life with my neighbors so much better! It is really sturdy, really well made and doesn't lets a single drop of juice / oils go through, and absolute life saver! I can't recommend it enough!

I think it does what it's supposed to do. Good ground protection for a fire pit or grill on a heat-sensitive surface. I have no plans to test its fire resistance. Good price.

So it's an effective little heat pad that I use under my BBQ on my back deck but it had some downsides. But the positives are that its very heat resistant, easy to wipe clean and seems fairly sturdy. Downside is it's alot smaller than expected and needed. It's large enough to just fit under my 4 burner grill. It's not large enough to catch any grilling splash, only directly beneath but that's why there are drip pans so it's a bit redundant. It works but it needs to be much bigger and weighted corners or some way to secure them would really help to keep the edges from constantly flapping up in the wind.

We have an old school grill (along with a fancy new high end one) on a painted wooden deck. The old grill has a charcoal bucket at the bottom which is bent and doesn't seat properly. It was inevitable that the charcoal dregs would fall out on our light gray deck. It was a mess to clean up. This Nezuiban mat is a partial solution. It's the right size for a standard grill (some are as wide as a jetliner these days -- OK, I exaggerate). It captures spills like the one described, and worse ones, such as hot coals which could fall out -- at least in theory. It's not necessarily easier to clean than dealing with the mess of your deck. Depending on the type of spill, it might even be more challenging to clean up -- but your deck is probably going to be fine. I'm also not sure I would leave this out in bad weather. Nothing resists solar infrared forever, and dirt will likely accumulate on the mat just as quickly, if not more so. We have an outdoor firepit as well, but that's on bare ground and this doesn't seem suitable for that. CON --If you plan to store this when not in use, you'll need to find something for that purpose; no storage bad is provided.

This is big enough to fit under our 5 burner grill. Glad to have something to catch the drips and spills that seem to elude the drip can and helps to protect the finish on the patio. No more unsightly mess on the concrete. Haven't had to clean it yet but it looks like it shouldn't be too bad. It does have grommet holes so we have been able to anchor it down as we get a lot of wind where we are. Very nice for containing the mess from a grill.
