*Update* - I've had this mug now officially 2 years. It was starting to lose some battery life and I had a few issues with it. I contacted Nextmug to get some advice and assistance and after answering a few questions they are sending me a replacement mug. Their customer service is stellar. Their product is fantastic, but if anything goes wrong, it seems they will do whatever they can to make it right. Best purchase I've ever made -and I would make it again. I love my nextmug - best bug like this for the price by far. Highly recommend. Now that I have used this mug for 6 months, I feel I can provide a completely honest, inclusive review. I had been using Ember mugs for several years and when my latest Ember stopped working, I wasn’t willing to shell out the big bucks on another and began searching for alternatives. I found Nextmug and decided to give it a shot. Nextmug vs. Ember Mug: A Comprehensive Comparison 1. **App-Free Experience**: Unlike the Ember Mug, which relies heavily on its companion app for customization and temperature control, the Nextmug offers a hassle-free experience with no app dependency. I purchased the Nextmug as a gift for the woman in my life to keep her hot drinks at a consistent temperature during the workday, especially when I’m not able to finish a cup right away. Intended use: Maintaining a steady drinking temperature for coffee and tea over extended periods. Design and build quality: The mug feels solid and well-made, with a clean, simple design. The charging coaster is compact and easy to place on a desk or counter. The mug sits securely on the base and begins heating automatically when placed on it. Temperature performance: The temperature control works as expected, keeping beverages warm without overheating. The preset temperature levels are straightforward to use, and the mug maintains a consistent temperature as long as it remains on the charging base. Ease of use: Controls are simple and intuitive. There’s no app required, which makes daily use easier. The mug is also easy to clean, as long as it’s kept out of the dishwasher, per the manufacturer’s instructions. Limitations: The mug is able to maintain temperature while off of the charging coaster, but only for about 2-4 hours depending on the temperature setting you'll be keeping it on, so it’s best suited for desk or countertop use rather than travel. It also requires a bit of care when cleaning due to the built-in electronics suck as making sure it's dry before placing it on the charger.
