  • Assembly was Tough but Good Chair Overall
Edition: Flight Simulator Cockpit Lite
Watch the online video when you assemble this chair. If you don’t you’ll be using the booklet and guessing which parts are which and which screws are which. Also, since the chair mostly consists of pipes through fabric you really gotta pull and force it to get some of the pipes in the right position. Like I said assembly was tough. Once you get past assembly and get the ability to actually use the chair, it’s great! I’ve really been enjoying playing sims like DCS. It’s very immersive. Definitely recommend, just be ready to work to put it together. ... show more

  • Excellent product, terrible assembly instructions.
Edition: Flight Simulator Cockpit Lite
Once fully assembled, this provides an excellent, comfortable platform for both my HOTAS setup and G29 racing wheel. However, the terrible assembly instructions and flawed quality control are really disappointing and drop this from a 5 star product to a 3 star product. Someone at Next Level really dropped the ball here. The good....this chair is comfortable and easily holds my 6+ft 220+lb frame. I’ve been gaming for an hour or two at a time without any problem. The materials are quality and have exceeded my expectations. The parts are expertly packed and protected from damage. The bad: Assembly!!! What a train wreck! I have assembled desks, cabinets, toys and hung multiple TVs. I’ve never seen such poor instructions from a mass marketed product. This product comes with 100+ washers, screws and bolts of different sizes, all just thrown together in a bag. The manual does not bother to label the various parts and the instructions just say “insert bolt and washer” without telling you which size bolt or screw. Even low end, TV wall mounts label their screws and bolts with letters or numbers. Ultimately, you’ll eventually figure it out by watching the online video and trial and error, but it will take you hours. Also, you need to own a rubber mallet, because the parts will not sit properly and need to be forced. Finally, I had one screw hole which was not drilled properly from the factory. These are just inexcusable problems for a $300 product. Nitpicking: I really would have liked the flight plates to have been designed so that you could fit a flight stick & G29 shifter at the same time (so that they are both comfortable). I have been unable to figure out a way to do so. In summary, if you’re willing to deal with the frustration of assembly and let me assure you, you will be frustrated, when finally assembled, this is an excellent product. Maybe someone at Next Level will read this review and take some basic steps to revise the instructions and packaging to correct these issues in the future. Till then, this is a seriously flawed product that will make me think twice about buying a Next Level product in the future. ... show more

  • Some trouble if you’re tall but still awesome
Edition: Flight Simulator Cockpit Lite
Very well built and comfortable even for extended use, only problem I have with it is the keyboard/yoke mount is too low to use with pedals for me (I am 6’1”) as my knees hit the bar but this may not be an issue for someone shorter

  • Hope you don't need instructions!
Edition: Flight Simulator Cockpit Lite
The chair is pretty comfortable and overall was a great purchase. I only have two complaints that I was able to overcome. 1) Assembly is challenging. The instructions are bad but more frustrating is that the hardware wasn't labeled in the instructions or in the packaging. It is a lot of guess work. Furthermore, you get a lot more hardware than necessary for assembly which means you WILL have tons of leftover screws, bolts, washers, etc. The extra hardware is intended for attaching your controllers to the chair but it is unnerving to have leftover parts. 2) The top of the backrest tilts forward. At 5'9" this causes my head to pitch forward a little. This is especially the case when using my Oculus Quest 2 with the upgraded head strap. I tried turning it around so the bar tips back instead of forward but the chair doesn't feel right when doing so. My solution is to sit on a cushion to give me an extra inch or two of height. That raises my head high enough that I don't have to lean forward or worry about my VR headset catching on the back. ... show more

  • Great multifunctional hideaway sim chair, a bit uncomfortable though
Edition: Flight Simulator Cockpit Lite
I am just beginning to get into sim type games and looked around for a seat that could do everything and putaway when I'm done with it. I really expected not to find anything that fit my requirements but here we are. It does exactly that and more. I have currently set it up for my VR space with a keyboard and HOTAS and really enjoying it. I can break it down or fold it up with everything attached and put it in the closet if I need to. It looks relatively lightweight, and it is, but with the HOTAS attached and it's weird lawn chair deal it can be a bit cumbersome sometimes. There are some parts that don't make sense during the assembly compared to the pictures but it does seem to work either way. Now to my only real complaint. My ass really hurts sitting in this thing, granted I play for hours but I wasn't expecting that to even be a thing. I seem to be the only person complaining about it though. The seat could literally use ANY cushion and it would be immensely better. I did notice that it can be leaned back a little, maybe I'll give that a try. Until then I'll be sitting on a decorative pillow I found at the house. ... show more

  • Pieces do not fit, terrible instructions
Edition: Flight Simulator Cockpit Lite
Looking for a product just like this, and the quality of the materials is very nice. Unfortunately the fancy powder coated metal ensures that none of the screws work reliably - the holes are off center and the pieces which are supposed to be adjustable require 2 people and a hammer to fit together... good luck getting them back apart again. If you need to mount your hotas etc be sure and do that BEFORE you mount the plate - otherwise you'll just have to undo everything you did and do it over again (3x). there clearly has been a lot of effort put into making this setup - the instructions are extensive and the video is nice. unfortunately neither actually realistically portray what you need to do to successfully build this thing. i read the reviews saying this thing was a nightmare to build... they were spot on. but its a great product and exactly what i was looking for, so aside from that no complaints. ... show more
