The kit had many colors of thread spools and matching bobbins. The attachments looked good but tiny for big old hands like mine. The threader seems fineor thin. But I'm not a sewperson. The thread is tiny and my eyes old. I had a little trouble finding the ends or starting point. But I've used up two spools! The bobbins are metal. Having loaded bobbins was a real blessing . I was able to match three colors to my needs easily as the tray layout is a plus! For me the kit went above expectations!

MY PERSPECTIVE/SKILL LEVEL: Beginner. I had Home Ec back in high school in the early 90s but me and the sewing machine have not hung out very much ever since. VOLUME OF THREAD: If you need a specific color, you're better off just getting that color. I was doing a lot of beginner projects with stretchy cloth, meaning I'm doing a zigzag stitch and using a bit more thread than normal (I suspect). I def was running through the thread a little bit fast. That said, it is a lot of thread variety. They do give you multiple rolls of white and black. COLORS: There is truly a rainbow and for the most part, the bobbin color thread matches the other thread. BUT... there are a few places where the bobbins are not a perfect match. I think there is an intention that you would use the bobbins and then for a few of the colors where the match isn't exact then you'd use the empty bobbin to do it the traditional old school way. I'm lazy, so I just paired it up with a different bobbin. Hey... I told you I'm a beginner....! I took off half a star for this thread color mis-match though. QUALITY OF THREAD: I know for a fact from my mom, way back when she first tried to teach me, that thread can have great quality and you can tell. I can actually tell that this is kind of a mid to lower level quality. It has to do with the way it sometimes has a few microscopic fluffs that come off of it. That was fine for my project. But if you are someone who gets annoyed by that, then you likely need to level up to a different type of thread. I don't think it will flat out break on you for no reason. This is where I took off like 1/2 a star. GOOD FOR BEGINNERS: Yes! I mean, come on. I got way too much to learn to also figure out how to properly bobbin. One day I hope to be like those ladies on youtube that are lightening fast on the sewing machine. This is nice though. I would say that the way the thread is wound can be a little bit funky. I mean they really wanted to make sure that that thread didn't get loose on you. Just make sure it's unwinding properly as you start to sew. Obviously if it's not it will shake loose and you'll have to rethread. FINAL WORDS: While there isn't a proper case or anything, I do like that plastic thing with the plastic covering on top. I'm a bit OCD, so I like that it keeps it all clean.

I liked the variety of colors. I didn't realize that these were small spools of thread. The thread breaks very easily. My babylock machine didn't like it much.the company contacted me and asked about the product and actually refunded it. Since they were so good about I changed my rating to 5 star.

Maybe its uncharitable to rewiews this more poorly since they do say in the description that the bobbins do not match the thread on the spools . And my own fault for not reading the listing carefully. That said - I think it makes this product not very useful - which makes my 2 star review seem fair to me. The fact that they tell you doesn't make it less of a problem. I orderd these mini spools to go with my daughter's small sewing machine - this is the size of spool that came with the machine, and they were the only ones this size I could find, distributed and recommended by the manufacturer of the machine. So I just clicked order as soon as I found them without looking closer. But what am I supposed to do with these threaded bobbins that don't match any thread I have? and these mini spools hold so little thread that having to thread bobbins from them means I won't get much out of them. If the bobbins matched they'd be fine for small projects. At least there are matching bobbins for the 4 spools of black and 4 spools of white, and I appreciate that there are more of these especially useful colors. But I'd have honestly prefered pay less and just buy black and white thread but that didn't seem available. Silver lining is that my 6 year old is excited about mixing and matching thread. We haven't used the thread yet so don't how how it will hold up, but the thread that came with our machine from the same company was somewhat prone to breaking.

There is very little thread in these spools. They are also linty which can damage your machine . The worst issue is that there is sticky tape on the spool to help the first layers of thread stay in place. This kept the thread stuck to the plastic as I was trying to sew on my machine , causing a lot of tension and it kept breaking which is very frustrating. I'm new to sewing so I don't know if the tape on the spool is standard but as a newbie even I can tell that this thread is terrible for machine sewing.
