  • Great motor
Style: 36lb Thrust Pattern Name: Motor
Anyone complaining about battery life is using a junk battery and anyone complaining about speed either has too high of expectations or is trying to push a barge. This is a great motor value. My only concern is a bit of vibration, I'm getting another for my other yak and will compare the two.

  • The Perfect Kayak Trolling Motor!

I looked at a few options for an affordable trolling motor setup on my fishing kayak for those long flatwater sections and really liked the Battery LED feature and shorter shaft. • Thinking about buying a trolling motor?
Style: 36lb Thrust Pattern Name: Motor
This trolling motor is very nice for the money the weight is probably in line with other units the battery life seems ok I use an old car battery and it pushes me all day in my 12ft Jon boat. Downside is if there's current ur not gonna be setting any speed records haha if you can even overpower the current. 36lbs of thrust I don't think is enough so im probably going to buy a 55 or 65lb thrust and just put this one up front. Its a nice motor tho. Got me out on the water and caught a lot of fish using it. Very quiet. ... show more

  • solid
Style: 36lb Thrust Pattern Name: Motor
This has been one of the best purchases I have ever made. It is solid. Quality is remarkable. Very heavy duty. I go out kayaking a lot sometimes with my wife and have built a transom to add this motor to my kayak for long day excursions. I am amazed at how well this thing works. It has 35 lbs of thrust which I needed since I use it not only for myself, but often will tether to me my wife with her kayak as well. Between the weight of two adults, two kayaks, battery and motor, it can pull the total weight of 490 lbs easily!! ... show more

  • light weight, sips juice, whisper quiet
Style: 36lb Thrust Pattern Name: Motor
This is my first experience with a trolling motor. I side-mounted the 36# kayak model to an Old Town NEXT (basically a one seat, 60 lb, 12 ft. kayak/canoe hybrid). Ran it tonight for the first time, just me (175 lbs), a small cooler, and a fully charged Mighty Max 55AH AGM. (38 lbs) I'm amazed. Lowest speed pushed me along at a leisurely paddling speed. Each throttle speed seemed to correspond to 1 mph... so full throttle had me pushing 5 mph. Once I got the depth set properly (simple adjustment, and with my mount the 24" depth is pretty much perfect)... I settled on speed 3, clamped down the steering clamp, and basically used it as "paddle assist." After an hour spent mostly on speed 3 but occasionally 4 & 5, I glanced at the battery meter. Still fully lit. So I kept going. After 2 hours I realized daylight- not battery-was my concern, so I turned around and ran it back @ full throttle for almost a full hour. I got back to the launch with 80% on the meter. Wow. While not "fast", I am still going to be able to cover a LoT of water with this set up. I'm excited to get out for a full day and see just how much. ... show more

  • Easy Install in Feefree Kayak
Style: 36lb Thrust Pattern Name: Motor
I bought this for my 13.5 FeelFree Lure kayak. It works very well. All you have to do is rotate the head around so the handle is in line with the propeller. It slides through sonar pod opening will tighten pretty well around the rim. It does not need to be real tight on the rim. I put it in and took it out a few times on the trip with no issues. The propeller will need to be vertical when putting it trough the opening and taking it out. You will need to have a rudder because it does not turn the kayak very fast since it is in the middle of the boat. I pretty much only use the first 2 speeds. Water tends to splash up through the sonar pod opening at too high of a speed. You will still need to take a paddle to help with fast sharp turns. I took it out for about 3 hours and the battery was still very strong. I put the battery up front in the dry storage compartment. ... show more
