Love this. It's larger than I thought, but that works. It means I can put a good number of healthy snacks in it. And I love that you can load the bottom with ice, to keep the snacks cold. I use it for galas at the theatre, because the food needs to stay fresh and crisp, so that it's still good to eat after sitting out in the party room for the duration of the show. I put this to use almost immediately when I got my hands on it. Was a big hit at the family easter party and I'll defiantly be buying the rest of the chill serving wear from these guys! Kept everything cold, and was super sturdy, no flopping loose lids/sections like some other brands.

The pieces itself are a nice hard acrylic plastic that will definitely be durable for parties. I love love love the little bottom tray for ice to keep fruit/ veggies/ dip/ cheese cold. 2024-03-21. Chilled veggie tray with lid by Newbro. Ice serving platter. Portable. Clear. Size: 11"L x 4.7"W x 15"H Material: Acrylic Includes: 3 tongs and 5 mini forks Before I begin my review, let's talk a bit about the materials. This chilled veggie tray by Newbro is made of acrylic. Acrylic is a transparent thermoplastic homopolymer known more commonly by the trade name “plexiglass.” It is generally considered one of the clearest plastics on the market and is very scratch resistant. Another advantage of acrylic is that it does not contain or release Bisphenol A (BPA) during hydrolysis (degradation due to material contact with water), so it's a food safe plastic to use. On the downside acrylic is quite brittle and not very impact resistant when compared to other plastics. It also experiences brittle failure, and industry term used to describe how a material behaves under pressure. With brittle failure, the plastic has little flexibility and will crack after minimal bending. When crushed, it often breaks apart in shards (like glass). In addition to the poor impact resistance and the brittle failure, acrylic also has poor heat resistance. With a boiling point of 130°C (266°F), it will not fare well with hot liquids, or for use in the microwave, or even exposure to direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time. Lastly, acrylic does not defend well against attacks from organic solvents, and while it is non-toxic and food safe (approved by the FDA), it's something you may need to consider depending on your intended use. This chilled veggie tray with lid will come in very handy at parties or get-togethers. The tray is a two piece set and functions much like chaffing dishes, but instead of water that gets heated up, you fill the bottom tray with ice. Like chaffing dishes, this set also comes with a lid making it portable and protecting your food even after it's prepared. All pieces are clear so you can see what's inside and the lid will also serve to keep out insects if the venue is outside. Conveniently included in this serving tray set are 3 serving tongs and 5 mini forks, all are stainless steel and machine-washable. The tongs are very basic, just bent metal (no spring mechanism), and will probably not last the long haul, but will perform, until they don't... Being acrylic, the serving tray set is NOT machine-washable (dishwashers can reach temperatures much higher 266°F.) Seeing that it is advertised for serving cold food, it would also make sense that it should NOT go in the dishwasher. The only other notable I have is that the lid just sits on the tray and there is nothing to secure it. I do wish is that if there was a clip of some sort on the handles connecting the lid to the food tray, it would have made it perfect for transporting. Sure, some larger rubber bands will do the trick, but it would have been nicer if it came with something built in. ... show more

I always borrow my parents veggie platter so I am happy to have my own. I like that this one has a seperate tray for ice to be used beneath so it can be used to keep things cool. It is a good sized tray and I appreciate the additional items/serving utensils it comes with. They are solid, sturdy utensils. The tray itself is sturdy and durable - I couldn't tell from the picture if it would be, but it is a sturdy material good for reusing. The handles on the side make it very easy to hold and carry as well! The lids/trays stack into each other nicely for easy storage so it doesn't take up a lot of space which is great. It's be great if it had a lid for the circle section in the middle. It looks like it should, but it doesn't but that's OK and can be worked with. ... show more

I used this for a party over the weekend and it worked perfectly. I put veggies in it for the sandwiches (lettuce, tomato, onion). It kept things nice and cool and covered to protect from flies/dust. I will for sure be using this at all the family events from now on. I'm so glad I got it.

This chilled veggie serving tray is fabulous! Nice clear, durable acrylic tray that has a lid and sits in a tray that can be filled with ice. Comes with 3 small tongs and 4 little serving forks that also seem to be of good quality. The tray is amazing in size, plenty of room. Can be used for a number of different items, more than just veggies, so very versatile. Tray assembled has nice handles to carry from place to place. Lid sits on tip, no locking device tp attach all together. But does sit flush with one another. This set looks elegant and will definitely impress your guests.
