I don’t write too many reviews but this unit was too good not to share with those using small lathes looking for a good collect chuck solution. I use it on a Sherline lathe with 3/4 -16 spindle. I was skeptical about using an adapter but for this price point took a chance. Both the chuck and the collets exceeded my expectations. Collets are as good as my Techniks collets - was very surprised and pleased. The machining quality is top notch. Adapter threads are crisp, fit and finish is excellent.     • Well made, but has .1mm of runout.
If you really want a collet chuck for wood turning and mainly work in single set ups or with mandrels, this could be for you. However, for me the entire point of a collet chuck is to hold work concentrically, so that you can flip work on the lathe. In workpieces at around 4", I measured about 100 microns of runout. That just won't do; at this level of runout you may as well just switch out for the convenience of a three jaw. It's a shame. It seemed well made. Again, it'll be just fine for single set up projects, but anyone looking for repeatability won't get what they're looking for here. ... show more

Easy to use but wondered why I was getting an additional .010-.050 added play. The collar hole is not centered causing my work pieces to look like doodoo after turning. I have contacted the seller and will update when resolved. Spoke with Customer service and they let me know I was using the chuck incorrectly lol. I'm new. Look up how to use a collet chuck the collects need to to seat in the collar before threading on. ... show more

for the wood lathe. its much nicer having tooling that you can transfer between the wood and metal shop (the er collets) to save a lot of money on equipment.

    • Awesome tool with virtually no run out
Using this on my Taig micro lathe and works perfectly. With a half inch end mill at 25mm out less then 1/1000 run out with included 1/2 ER32 collet. Very nice unit.

    • This collet chuck is off Center
I got the chuck setup on my lathe, put the collet into the nut, inserted my expanding mandrel, and tightened the whole thing down. when I spin the lathe by hand I can see the mandrel spinning off center. No matter what I try to align the chuck or collets it still moves about a 1/16" or more.
