  • Sizing: watch my video! Comfort & gait: read below!
The media could not be loaded. Just a bit more on size to accompany the video: it's hard when you look at the sneaker to understand why the Fuel Cell size 6 wide may fit better, but I realized that the shape of the toe box for the Fuel Cell is just a little rounder than the Vongo which is pointier. So maybe to accommodate the wide size, the whole top section of the Vongo is widened and it becomes too wide for me. Where for the Fuel Cell - because it's already naturally, a rounder shape - the wide doesn't widen the whole top section of the shoe too much and it fits so well for a wide foot. Comfort & gait: When it comes to comfort and gait, the Fuel Cell is surprisingly supportive and comfortable. I have been wearing the Vongos for a couple years without complaint. I guess sometimes you don't realize what you're missing until you actually try something different. But I also realize that sometimes when I was really tired or I walked longer, that I would be plodding along in the Vongo. When I wear the Fuel Cell, however, even though it isn't meant to propel gait in any way as far as I know, I find that this shoe and the way the sole is designed does something to help lighten, or propel, the gait a bit. What I mean is that it allows my fast-paced walking with my dog to be a lighter gait without feeling like a cumbersome walk. The Vongos weren't entirely that way, but sometimes it felt like my walking was heavier. I just assumed it was because I had my custom orthotics in the Vongo and although I would love to be a Barefoot sneaker wearer, I just haven't done the work, and with customer Orthotics I couldn't for the moment. So I naturally assumed that traditional sneakers are just stiffer and do create a heavier gait, but until I wore the Fuel Cell shoes, I realized that may not always have to be the case: my gait and the way I walk is just so easy, comfortable, and supported with the Fuel Cell. Lastly, when taking miles long walks on uphill/downhill trails (vs sidewalk), I tighten the laces on the Fuel Cell snugly, slide the 'lock thing' in place and tie a small bow on top of the 'lock.' If I don't tie a little bow, the lock seems to loosen a bit on my right foot, thereby loosening the shoe's fit. I'm aware that my gait is off, as many individuals' gait may be, so my opinions are coming from this perspective, wearing custom orthodics to correct over pronation, & someone who walks miles (off and on road) with a dog. :) ... show more

  • Fantastic shoes - form fitness instructor perspective
I am a fitness instructor, and good quality, stable shoes are very important for me. These New Balance shoes are fantastic! I bought this model in 3 different colors. Very stable and super comfortable. Please note that they have a pretty narrow box, which is perfect for me. However, if you have wider feet, you may consider a different pair. ... show more

  • Runs small, great colors
I get so many compliments on the look of these shoes- the colors and patterns are so fun! I ignored reviews and ordered a 7 to start and they were too small. I exchanged for a 7.5, and they fit okay, but I kind of with I had tried an 8. I'm usually a 7 or 7.5 in sneakers. They feel a little small in the toe box still, so an 8 might have been better. They are super cute though, and have a little cushioning to them, which is not true for all trainer shoes and makes them comfortable. ... show more

  • Order a full size up
Size: 7.5 Color: Magenta Pop/Blue
I ordered these shoes in my normal size of 6.5, they were way to small and narrow. I really like the colors and ankle support so I decided to order an entire size larger, the 7.5 just to see if that would work. That size fit perfectly and are very comfortable. I removed the insole to put in my own, and now they are great. Just keep in mind when you order you may need to go a half size, to full size larger than normal. I have never worn a 7.5 in my entire life, but I guess for this particular style I will be! ... show more

  • So cute! And Yet too tight!
New Balance, what happened??? These are one of the cutest styles you’ve put out in a long time. But they don’t fit! They are the size I always buy but they are too short in length and too narrow in width. I’m sooo disappointed! UPDATE: I purchased the same shoe in a 1/2 size larger and they are great! Love New Balance Shoes!!!! ... show more

  • Great for HIIT and strength training
Size: 9 Color: Black/Rose Gold Metallic
Do order at least a 1/2 size larger, dependent on how you intend to use the shoes. They run short and narrow. I bought a 1/2 size larger because I wanted a snug fit for HIIT and they fit perfectly. If I was going to use them to wear all day or walk/run, I might have preferred a full size larger or the shoe in wide to allow for foot swelling. They are PERFECT for hiit workouts. Great ankle support, sole grip and cushion in the heel. I like these better than the minimus line specifically made for gym workouts. ... show more

  • 2 months later and these are going to goodwill. Terrible quality.
I've tried so many shoes now and was really hoping to like these. The back though on mine just wernt able to withstand much wear and got flimsy enough just after maybe 2 months of normal wear so that my heel slips out. My heel slips out sooooo easily. It's incredibly annoying. Think because the way the back didn't have a lot of quality structure to it so it wears out quickly or maybe how low it goes that causes the back of your heel to slip. I've tried so many ways to keep these but I just couldn't get them to stay on no matter what I tried. I fussed with them for cumulatively several hours. I can't anymore, it's just driving me up the wall. I can't imagine running with these. I used this just for a daily 30 minute gym routine. They are still usable luckily for someone who doesn't mind the slipping of the heel, so good for goodwill so it doesn't end up in a landfill. But for anyone hoping to be super active, I personally just can't deal with that much heal slippage. ... show more
