  • Good Transition Barefoot Style Shoe But Do Have A Slight Arch
Update: I ended up returning these. The pain from the arch was too much for me. I ordered a wide version but they were still narrow compared to other normal width shoes I've purchased. Still think these shoes are nice but the Lem's Primal Zen are a much better barefoot transition shoe in my opinion (much wider toe box too but you have to order them on their website). Like others have mentioned you'll want to order a size larger than usual and unless you have really narrow feet I would also recommend ordering a wide version. I normally wear a size 13 in a normal sneaker style shoe and a size 14 wide fit nicely with a little room for my toes to move around. They definitely have more padding than I would expect from a typical barefoot shoe. For comparison, I can definitely feel a lot more of the ground in my Merrell Vapor. When I walk on an unpaved path I can feel the larger rocks but the small pebbles I barely noticed. If I'm walking on a sidewalk or paved roads these feel like more tradition shoes without as much padding and more flexibility, mainly in the front of the shoe. The shoes also feel very grippy. The only gripe I have with them is I feel like there is a slight arch that digs into my feet occasionally. I've come from wearing shoes with flat insoles and the arch is noticeable enough that it does cause some discomfort after wearing them all day or going for a walk, but so far it's not bothered me enough to make me want to stop wearing the shoes. I actually think they're one of the most comfortable and light-weight shoes I've ever owned and the lightness of them makes me want to walk faster than in normal sneakers. If you're used to wearing normal shoes, are used to a slight arch, and are looking for a lighter shoe that has more feeling in the soles but aren't looking for a "true" barefoot shoe or aren't ready for one then these are probably for you. ... show more

  • Fits like a glove. I love BOA technology!
Size: 10 Color: Blacktop/Blaze Orange
Going to use these while working out at the gym. It truly is a minimalist shoe. BOA Technology is super cool. I’m a size 10 Men’s and they fit to size. However, they are narrow and I have wide flat feet. It’s ok because the BOA Technology helps with the fit. I’m ok with it. Love the colors too.

  • A Great Trainer
Size: 10.5 Color: Black/Blacktop/Copper Metallc
A excellent light weight trainer with a great look. Thyese shoes run small and narrow. I ware a (US) 8.5 D (mediun wide) but had to do a return and step up to a 9 Wide to get the right fit.

  • Minimus shoes, run, smaller than expected
I’ve had a few pair of new balance, minimus shoes. These are the only shoes that I’ve ever gotten from new Balance that run exceptionally small. I have a very narrow foot which enables me to wear shoes easily without crowding. These are shorter and more narrow than any of the shoes that I’ve had before. Had to return these they did not fit. ... show more

  • Good shoes
Size: 12 Color: Blacktop/Blaze Orange
Have been using them for crossfit for almost a year and love them except for one thing. The boa lacing lock will sometimes just let go and will have to retighten in the middle of the workout. Would buy again just with normal laces.

  • Great shoes for Weight Training
Size: 8.5 Color: Blacktop
Love the fit, the overall support and the appearance. I was a bit skeptical about the BOA lace system at first but I've been pleasantly surprised.

  • Minimus no longer the go to shoe
Size: 8 Wide Color: Black/Outerspace/White
I've been a fan of the New Balance Minimus line since they came out with it! What purpose do I use this shoe line up for? - Working out, very light sprints/jogging, strength training, deadlifts, etc. - The minimus category caters to folks who need a wide shoe, are minimalist and want a no nonsense shoe that just functions! Why can't I recommend this shoe? - It does not fit well. I've tried my regular size, I've purchased a half size up and even tried the 'New Balance Men's Minimus Tr Boa V1 Cross Trainer' shoe. I'm not sure who is designing these shoes but I hope the team goes back to basics. We don't need a weird tongue or anything fancy. Just have a regular lace up shoe with the vibram sole that's tried and true (what happened to vibram and why aren't they collaborating on the minimus line any longer? The shoe is expensive enough and now no vibram? come on ya'll.), have a few good colorways at a respectable price point and people will buy your shoe. - Like others are saying, these shoes fit too narrow! They need someone to actually test fit these before going to market. What shoe am I currently working out with? - New Balance Men's MX20v3 Minimus Cross-Training Shoe! I purchased these back in 2015 (yes I've been working out with them intensely for 7 years). Not only have I purchased the above listed NB shoes but I've also tried to New Balance Men's MX40V1 Cross Trainers & New Balance Men's 20v7 Minimus Training Shoe and they both do not fit well in my opinion. - You can read similar reviews on New Balance's official website and the reviews complain of the same thing (sizing & being too narrow) - I hope New Balance reads these reviews and there is better oversight. I'm still rooting for this category but I'm officially leaving Minimus behind (I'm done doing returns) and I'm looking for a different minimalist brand to cater to my workouts. If anyone has any good recommendations, let me know! ... show more

  • Not a good fit
I'm a sneakerhead and really wanted to like this shoe but they are a total dud. Went a half size up like a lot of people suggested. The toe box is at an odd angle and although my big toe has enough space from the tip of the shoe, my three end toes rub the side of the shoe. Unfortunately, I already wore the shoes outside or I would have returned them. The only reason I did not give a one is they do seem to be ok to be worn without socks, as advertised. I would not recommend these shoes. ... show more
