Due to a medical issue I need shoes that are very cushioned, durable, and wide. I’ve tried other shoes that are very cushy, but they weren’t durable and the cushiness wore out quickly. Less cushioned shoes that are durable aggravated my medical issue. Then I saw these and, despite not having a lot of reviews, and a kind of high price point, figured they were worth a shot. I’ve been walking around with these for the past few weeks and I’m impressed! These New Balance shoes check all the boxes: very cushioned, very durable, wide width is perfect, and they’re very stable to walk in. They’re very chunky but really lightweight too. The only thing to be wary of is that New Balance runs SMALL. I sized up 1/2 a size from my normal size, and these fit great. To me the higher price was worth it because these shoes solve my main issues and they’re well made. I plan on buying a back up pair too. Great cushy durable value for the money. ... show more

This is possably the most comfortable shoe i have ever owned. My knee and ankle pain was gone after waring this shoe for 5 days.

    • If you work on your feet, these shoes are a treat.

I work for USPS and I'm on my feet all day. I have to wear a black leather slip-resistant shoe, so trying to find a comfortable shoe can be troublesome. The New Balance Fresh Foam X840F V1 is extremely comfortable. The foam insole and thick sole, make it comfortable to walk in, especially for long periods of time. I've tried Hoka's, Addidas, Brookes, Puma's, and Skechers. This shoe is the most comfortable out of the other brands I've tried. The only other brand that has come close is the Skechers Max Cushioning, but unfortunately, they don't make this shoe in black leather any longer. Some reviews claim the sole is breaking down; however, for me, I buy new shoes every six months based on the miles I put on them in six months, so I don't have a problem buying more than one pair of these shoes in a year. I may buy a few extra pair these New Balance Fresh Foam shoes to have extras just in case they are discontinued like most shoe models eventually are. ... show more

One of the most or the most comfortable work shoe i had ever worn. Got it cheap too, $79 for a wide 11.5. Great for anyone with morton’s neuroma.

    • Horribly CHEAPLY MADE shoes! Soles fall apart quickly!

These are the most cheaply made, expensive shoes I've ever purchased. Zero durability!! The poorly designed soles started coming apart on not one but two pairs that I owned, after wearing them for only a few weeks. I am NOT hard on shoes. Shoes, even considerably less expensive ones usually last me a long time. The first pair of the New Balance started coming apart shortly after I started wearing them on light terrain. Amazon replaced them. The second pair started coming apart after I wore them about 5 or 6 times. This was from daily, gentle use, not even long walks. The soles have a honeycomb design. This design is flawed as segments of the sole start coming loose & create "flaps" that make it impossible to walk in them. I continuously glued down the segment flaps with Shoe Goo to make them somewhat usable. $10 would be too much to pay for these! ... show more
