Pros: -- Very lightweight -- Simple, attractive design, looks almost classy compared to the garish shoe designs you often see -- Wide widths are really wide, for big feet -- Relatively inexpensive, particularly on one of the frequent discounts Cons: -- Minimal to no arch support or padding -- No rubber or protective covering on the toe box, cloth may tear if you drag your feet Out of the box, these shoes are fine for casual walking in the grocery store or shopping mall, but you would not want to use them for serious walking, or running, without getting some good arch support insoles. The NB Arishi is a lightweight inexpensive shoe that works very well for indoor workouts, for walking, and for just lounging around the house. They come in several colors and widths so most people can find an offering that fits properly and is comfortable for extended wear. I have worn Arishi’s for many years and really like them. I wouldn’t recommend them for serious running but for light duty, they are a great option. ... show more

These were my last pair of shoes. I always get these in 4E extra wide, which I appreciate having that option. Eventually, my toes tend stop poke through the top of any shoe's fabric, and these were no different. I just really like the cushioning of these shoes. I ended up buying the next model of this style recently and I "retired" the old shoes for use when I need to do DIY and other activities for which I don't want to subject my main pair. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The only reason I’m not giving 1 star is because these are the only shoes that fit my 13 year old. High instep and wide foot (12 XWide). Bought them in May and they ripped on both sides of both shoes by June. Bought them again in June and they lasted again only one month before ripping on both sides in the same spot. I contacted new balance who told me to contact Amazon. New balance didn’t want to stand behind their product. Buyer beware. Both shoes are beyond a return window (which I wouldn’t return them in this condition anyhow).
