Originally bought this shoe for lounging around, but after a few runs in it i ended up liking this better than the running shoes i had bought. Low stack height, rolls forward well and has a good balance of firmness and cushioning without feeling dead and has a nice slightly bouncy feel on fast runs and intervals. Tried a few full half marathon runs on them but they're probably not suited for 6+ mile runs, could use more cushioning and support for that. Not sure why the same size was around a full smaller than their 880v12 so that's something to watch out for, but the extra wide is still properly extra wide although the toe box height is on the low side. These aren't major downsides for me, but have to point out that arch support is definitely less and the shoe feels less stable compared to their 880v12 and the Brooks Ghost 13 and 14. ... show more

Normally I'm a 10.5 but had to size up to 11 size. I like the bottom of new balance soles. They feel comfy clean and classic. Most running shoes look goofy but not new balance. I recommend new balance!

Needed to upgrade to a strictly running only shoe. This is the one. Light. Wide cut and bounces back. Tried the x foam for 20 bucks more but did not like the stability so returned. Stop trying to compete with that HOKA brand.

    • Little tight but nice shoes
I normally wear a 10.5 wide (4E) from New Balance. One of the few shoe brand with good options in the wide sneakers. Not sure why Nike does not have more wide options. I have had no issues with the NB 10.5 4E but this shoe was tight. I normally wear a nice pair of thick socks for the extra support, but I could not fit the shoe with the thick socks. I already returned 3 pairs and really wanted a new shoes therefore I found 2 pairs of very thin socks and I was able to wear this shoes. I am hoping the shoe will loosen up a little as I wear them more. Let's hope! I really need a new pair. It does not look or feel like a normal New Balance 4E. ... show more

Bought these for my bf who had a prior surgery on his feet and so the kinds of shoes he wears are very important. No Jordan’s or air forces, anything that you don’t want to crease or can’t bend your toes in is not for him. He needs shoes for the function and not the look, and especially now working in a hospital. But he loves the shoes. Says they’re very comfortable and have nice support.     • To the size men's 8 I'm female and we're a nine.
The reason I buy New balance men chooses because they're perfect I can put a 3/4 in orthotic in the shoe and it still fits me really great. Got these as part of Amazon's return and they were perfectly brand new nothing wrong at all. Got a great discounted price!!

    • Nice shoe at reasonable price

I've run for almost 3 years in the defunct NB Evare, my first Fresh Foam shoe which offered very good cushioning. The 680v7 is similarly priced replacement. The 680 doesn't feel quite as cushiony and the heel is lower but I find it good for my 4 mile runs. Some complain about the narrow toe box but I find the toe box roomy compared to my other NB shoes. One BIG quibble - sizing. I bought my first NB shoes 10 years ago, size 10.5 D. Over the years, NB sizing has become smaller and smaller to the point where I'm ordering size 13. I take maybe size 10 in regular shoes. Extremely annoying. Size 13 is slightly loose but 12 is too tight. But it works well for me since there's room for the PROFOOT Orthotic Insoles for Plantar Fasciitis which compensate for the cushioning and heel height and also add arch support.
