Good comfort shoes

The shoe looks pretty and feels quite nice. The foam in the shoe gives good heel support propelling me forward a little bit. It has good breathability allowing my feet to stay cool. I would not recommend the shoes for physical labor as it is lightweight and bright. Solid choice for clean work.

As Amazon driver I’m on my feet for most the day and these shoes are great, the quality is standard but won’t wear tear for awhile, the cushion on the bottom is very nice, and I recommend you get true to size. They also look nice, and you don’t need to break these in there good right out of the box, for 50$ it’s a no brainer these are great.

Good pair of shoes for budget conscious runners

TLDR: Good for casual running but not good for high mileage. I'm on my 3rd pair of these but I will be graduating to more premium shoes like the 1080 or the More after this pair retires. This pair IME is excellent value for a consistent runner, it performs quite well on snow and ice. They fit true to size for me. I've taken these for everything from steady 16 miles to all out sprints, works like a charm. And they don't cost 3 digits USD. I would definitely recommend this pair to any friend who wants to get into running. That being said this pair is no longer for me at this point as I'm running much higher milage than before, and I am starting to notice pain after running in these compared to shoes more suited for long distances like the ASICS gel nimbus. Hence 1 less star than 5.

Have gotten the fresh foams for my man before and he loved them. Got a pair of these in the other day for him to try. He loves them more than the last pair I got him, so I ordered 2 more pairs for him. I’ve learned that if it’s a good one buy more than one because they will be gone and obsolete before you need another pair.

Great for walking, great value

I'm a 54M and almost 250 lbs. I have been walking in the past with New Balance 860s which typically cost about double of the cost of these 520s. The 860s are a bit wider for side to side support which I really find I don't need for just walking on sidewalks and streets. The 520 shoe is lighter and at first I was a little afraid about how stiff it was but apparently my old shoes were pretty worn in :-) After walking on these for a couple weeks I can say these are a great deal and I enjoy walking with these shoes. I would buy again. Per Amazon recommendation I am usually a size 9 and the site recommended size 9.5 which is a good fit.

Not for the serious walker

I do A LOT of walking at work and needed to replace my NB 680 shoes so I tried these out. Comfortable but after just a month the entire middle section of tread on the sole is worn smooth. It’s more of a foam material and. It rubber. Might be ok for the occasional stroll around the park but not for continuous heavy use.

I’ve been using the New Balance Fresh Foam 520 v9 for a few weeks now, and I’m honestly very impressed for the price point. The first thing I noticed is how comfortable they are right out of the box. The Fresh Foam cushioning provides a soft, supportive feel without being too squishy, making them great for daily walking, light running, or even just all-day wear. The shoes are also very lightweight, which makes a noticeable difference during longer walks or workouts. The breathable mesh upper keeps my feet cool, and the fit is true to size. I also appreciate that New Balance offers wide options—great if you have slightly broader feet like I do. Durability seems solid so far. The outsole has good grip, and the overall construction doesn’t feel cheap at all, especially considering the price range (typically around $60–$70).
