I have been wearing New Balance athletic shoes for over 40 years and have always found them durable and comfortable. I especially like the extra wide (4E) option. These specific shoes were a bit on the large side but manageable. I usually wear the shoes without socks and put about three miles a day walking with them. My running days are over. Tried the stock "Fresh Foam" insole but found it uncomfortable. Did not like the uneven surface and it didn't seem to provide much cushioning. Finally I have replaced those insoles with Dr. Scholl's athletic insoles. Much better. Can't comment yet on durability as I have only had them a few days. ... show more

These have to be the lightest New Balance sneakers I've ever purchased. These felt and wear great. I purchased these because the Puma's purchased two months ago were defective (arch at the heel and slides off). I worked out in these NB and found myself wearing them the rest of the day due to their comfort. I am contemplating buying another pair as a spare. If I had to critique the sneaker, it would be that the toe hold, looks plastic which makes me question their durability. Other than that, the inserts and feel of the sneaker are awesome. NB has gone down hill. They've changed their designs and materials. After doing research I thought this was the next generation of their 510 V4 trail running shoes. A shoe I had purchased about 6 pairs of over the last 10 years. Within 6 weeks of wearing these it was clear they had changed the shape of the shoe so their "wide" was more narrow, and the sole of the shoe is made of a harder, more plastic feeling "rubber" that literally "clicks" like a muffled tapshoe when you walk on a hard surfaced floor. All of which resulted in my feet hurting like crazy, and due to the hardness of the sole, every step sent vibrations up my legs and caused severe knee pain, where there was no pain before. They're also cheaply made with no leather on the portion about the sole of the shoe. It's all just some hard plastic/rubber laminate to look like their old style. Steer clear. ... show more

I returned these, maybe its me or maybe a fault in the shoe. The left one fit perfectly the arch in the right shoe actually extended to far back and pushed up into my heel. Very uncomfortable.

This is a great shoe for many things. The fit runs quite big in a sense that it’s capacity is big but not the shoe size. For the value, the shoes seems a bit cheap looking with the plastic/rubber molding everywhere. They’re light shoes and seem perfect for lasting a while.
